Chapter 213 The Little Tiger’s Mom
Since the surgery was being done out in the wild and there was no way to keep things completely sterile, Sierra gave the little tiger a gentle kiss, then disinfected herself again.
When it was time to begin, Sierra walked up to the white tiger and said softly, “I’m going to put you under now. When you wake up, the bullet will be out of your stomach.”
The white tiger nodded weakly.
Cayson was already numb to it all.
The white tiger let Sierra give it the anesthesia without a fuss, and the little tiger, following Sierra’s instructions, went to find Mark.
Sierra acted calm and collected in front of the white tiger, but inside, she was anything but confident.
The white tiger’s injuries were way worse than she’d expected.
As soon as Sierra cut open the white tiger’s belly, she saw that the whole abdominal cavity was flooded with blood.
Honestly, it was a miracle the white tiger was still alive.
Sierra spent over an hour just clearing out the clotted blood from the abdominal cavity. Then she hunted for the bullet, finally tracking it down in the intestines.
Sierra finally breathed a little easier.
Three hours had gone by since the surgery started.
Every single step was a frantic, careful race against the clock. Sierra had been crouched on the ground for so long that her legs were completely numb.
When Sierra finally stood up, her legs nearly buckled beneath her. If Cayson hadn’t reached out to steady her, she would’ve gone down hard.
Sierra whispered a soft thanks, then said, “Dr. Sawyer, you take it from here.”
Cayson’s view of Sierra had already shifted a lot.
He knew she was fresh out of college, so when she said she’d be the lead surgeon, he hadn’t taken her seriously at first.
But after watching her work, he had to admit, her skills in the operating room were impressive.
Sierra spent three hours clearing out all the clotted blood and then painstakingly hunting down the bullet, digging through all those organs bit by bit until she finally got it out.
Her speed, accuracy, and those quick, ruthless decisions, Cayson knew even he couldn’t pull that off.
Cayson said seriously, “I’ll handle the rest. You haven’t slept in forever. Go get some sleep.”
Sierra nodded.
After staying up all night, anyone would be feeling spaced out, and Sierra had been trekking through the mountains for at least ten hours. Even with the System boosting her stamina, she was running on fumes now.
She peeled off her blood-stained gloves and surgical gown, then shuffled into the tent where everyone was resting, exhaustion written all over her face.
Just then, Cayson suddenly called out to her, “Sierra.”
Sierra turned around, a little puzzled.
Cayson wasn’t the type to beat around the bush. He said, “I was out of line before. I said some things I shouldn’t have. I’m sorry.”
Sierra was caught off guard. She never thought someone as proud as Cayson would apologize so quickly.
She nodded slightly and said, “It’s normal for you to doubt me, Dr. Sawyer. I snapped back at you a couple of times, too. As long as you’re not bothered by it, it’s all good.”
Cayson thought to himself, ‘Considering how rude I was before, Sierra could’ve really let me have it.
‘But she just snapped back a little. Honestly, that’s actually pretty nice of her.’
Cayson asked, “Why didn’t you keep going with your udhi Triblenderally count in veterinary medicine.”
Successfully unlocked!
Sierra was already heading toward the tent. She waved hand and and bay life’s about more than just animal medicine.”
Sierra didn’t wait for Cayson to say anything else.

She was way too tired to care what he thought, so she just walked straight into the tent.
Right now, the little tiger was curled up in its own sleeping bag.
When it saw Sierra, it stumbled over to her.
Sierra scratched her head, thinking it was time to feed the little guy. She quickly pulled out the goat milk powder from her bag.
The water in the thermos was almost gone, but Sierra managed to squeeze out just enough for the little guy to have one more meal.
Sierra mixed the milk powder in and gently shook the bottle to blend it.
The little tiger climbed onto Sierra’s lap and asked in a sweet, babyish voice, “Mommy, when will Daddy wake up?”
Sierra froze, her hands stilling on the bottle.
She lowered her head and asked, “What did you just call me?”
The little white tiger was already bouncing back, sounding way more lively. It said, “Daddy said you’re my mommy now! Mommy.”
The little white, tiger’s happy voice filled the tent.
Hearing that, Sierra’s sleepiness faded a little.
There was no way she could change the little guy’s mind now. And honestly, she really was its mom at this point.
Sierra just shook her head and fed the little white tiger, resigned.
She said, “Your daddy’s surgery went great. He’ll be awake by tomorrow afternoon. After you finish your milk, let’s nap together for a bit, okay?”
“Okay,” the little white tiger chirped.
Once the little white tiger finished its milk, Sierra slipped off her shoes and burrowed into her sleeping bag.
The little white tiger had been anxious for so long that it drifted off right after Sierra did.
Sierra slept straight through till noon the next day, not even a single dream.
She was woken up by the noisy shouts and exclamations coming from outside.
She slowly opened her eyes and felt something heavy and soft resting on her neck.
She reached up and picked it up. It was the little white tiger, fast asleep and totally out of it.
The little white tiger blinked sleepily at Sierra. It said, “Good morning, Mommy.”
Sierra sat up and gently pushed the little white tiger away. She said, “Looks like your daddy’s awake. Want to go check on him?”
“Yes,” the little white tiger chirped.
Sierra quickly put on her shoes and clothes, unzipped the tent, and was surprised to see the place was packed with people. Somehow, Sophie had managed to get the rescue team and the police up the mountain, and everyone was busy figuring out how to get the tiger down.
After all, the tiger weighed over 800 pounds. It would take at least eight people just to carry it, and getting it down the mountain would take more than ten hours.
Just then, a noise came from inside the tent. Everyone turned to see a little white tiger in a light down jacket running over to the big white tiger, making little growling noises as it went.
Then Sierra popped out of the tent, rocking a black windproof down jacket.
Her hair fell straight and thick, and even with a bare face, she was a total stunner.
Before anyone could get a word in, Cayson was the first to speak up. He said, “Sierra, you’re awake. We’re all trying to work out how to get the white tiger down the mountain.”
Sierra glanced over at the white tiger, already up and licking the little one’s fur.
She said, “Let’s keep it here and watch for a couple more days. White tigers have amazing healing powers. If it keeps getting better, it can probably walk down the mountain by itself.”
Cayson asked, “Is it really going to cooperate with us?”
Sierra pointed at the white tiger, which wasn’t acting aggressively at all. She said, “Look, it’s right in front of us. As long as it can get up and walk, getting down the mountain won’t be a problem.”

Cayson had already bandaged up the tiger’s leg yesterday.
Sierra asked, “Any sign of infection in the leg?”
Cayson replied, “Not yet. But the bone’s exposed. We’ll probably have to do two more surgeries later.”
Sierra nodded.
Sierra said she’d stay on the mountain for two more days to observe the white tiger, and the wildlife rescue team was totally fine with that.
Felix and Emery still needed to patrol the mountain, plus some teammates and people at the protection station were injured, so they had to go check on them.

Once they finished up, Felix and Emery let the takins lead them down the mountain.
Sierra stayed up on the mountain for three days, and every day, the takins hauled supplies up for everyone.
By the second day after surgery, the white tiger was already able to stand. By the third day, except for being a little weak, it was back to looking like a normal tiger again.
The white tiger’s wounds healed even better than Sierra had hoped, so on the fourth day, everyone finally made their way down the mountain together.
To take care of the white tiger, nobody rode the takins this time. Everyone walked.
The takins, realizing they weren’t needed, just stood there, staring longingly after the group, their eyes full of sadness and reluctance.
In their hearts, the takins knew this was probably goodbye for good. They’d likely never see Sierra again.
Since everyone still had to fill out paperwork, the white tiger and its cub were temporarily settled at the rescue station after coming down the mountain.
The white tiger felt totally safe here and was basically a giant housecat now. Anyone at the rescue station could walk right up and give it a scratch.
The little white tiger was even more outrageous. By the time Sierra came to pick up the father and son, she found the cub had already mastered the classic “give me a high-five” move.
Sierra’s mind went completely blank.
She thought, ‘Seriously, who taught it that?’
