Chapter 223 Arrest

The young male employee was completely petrified, at a loss for what to do.

He stared blankly at his own hands.

He couldn’t even kill a chicken if his life depended on it.

Then he glanced at Celia. She was looking at the dead sheep on the ground as if it were just another rock, completely unfazed by its death.

Celia barked at the staff to get moving, then shot Sierra and her group a look and rolled her eyes when she saw them still standing around.

A wave of helplessness washed over Sierra.

There was nothing she could do about this.

She turned around, her steps heavy. She said, “Let’s go.”

Timothy’s eyes went wide. He asked, “We’re just gonna walk away? What about that sheep?”

“It’s not a protected animal,” Sierra said, her expression growing grim.

That’s when Timothy realized what Sierra really meant. His angry face went stiff.

Yeah, it was just a regular sheep, not some protected species.

To anyone else, fighting for a sheep that could be killed at any time just made them look crazy.

Their faces darkened with anger and frustration.

Celia smugly crossed her arms over her chest and taunted, “What, weren’t you all just accusing me? Go on, keep talking!”

With that, she stood up, roughly tossed the dead sheep onto the shallow by the river, and shouted, “What are you all staring at? Start filming already!”

Everyone walked away, their faces clouded with displeasure.

But what they didn’t know was that after they left, Celia blurred out the faces in the photos she’d secretly taken and casually posted them online.

She captioned the post: [OMG, I never thought I’d run into a bunch of lunatics just for killing a sheep.]

At first, Celia’s fans were totally confused, not getting what she was talking about

Celia didn’t go into details in her caption, but when she saw everyone was still clueless, she started embellishing the story, leaving out the part where she was the one who told her staff to kill the sheep.

Sure enough, after Celia’s post, her fans were instantly furious.

Elliot saw it, too. He immediately called and said, “Sierra, let me handle this. As for Celia… she shouldn’t be allowed to stay in the influencer scene anymore.”

Sierra had the call on speaker, so everyone on the wildlife rescue team could hear.

Timothy was fuming. He snapped, “Damn, this woman is disgusting. She actually posted our photos online. Where’s our legal team at the zoo? She really thinks she can push us around?”

They were already feeling sick to their stomachs after having to watch that sheep get beaten to death right in front of them. And now, people online were calling them a bunch of self-righteous virtue-signaling idiots because of it. Who wouldn’t be pissed?

“I’m going to find Celia right now,” Timothy snapped, practically shaking with anger.

Celia never realized that the people she’d snapped photos of were actually Sierra and her crew. She thought the girl looked familiar, but since she didn’t really follow the entertainment scene, she just brushed it off.

Once Sierra’s identity got exposed, it shot straight to the top of the trending list.

Seeing how things were blowing up online, Celia jumped on a live stream to sell her products, even pulling out the stuff that usually just sits in her inventory.

Less than an hour into the stream, her sales had already topped over 1 million.

Keep in mind, Celia only had a little over a million followers. Normally, she’d be lucky to break a million per stream, and after paying out commissions and covering her staff’s salaries, she was left with almost nothing.

Celia jumped at the chance to spread a bunch of nasty rumors about Sierra during her livestream.

She said, “Yeah, I honestly have no idea what happened. They just suddenly showed up and started calling me disgusting and saying I was a bad person.

“But my sweet fans know I’m just a rural lifestyle blogger. All I do in my videos is cook outdoors. I never thought anyone would actually attack me like this.

“What did they even say about me? That person has tens of millions of followers online. She could drown me out with a single post. I guess I’d better just keep quiet and be careful what I say.”

During the livestream, Celia kept subtly manipulating the chat, pretending to be all innocent while steering the conversation her way.

If it were anyone else, people would’ve spotted her act in a heartbeat, but her fans just didn’t get it at all.

Her fans were so worked up, they were ready to go to bat for her.

Timothy was already fuming, but when he saw people spamming Celia with gifts on his phone, he was so mad his face went red.

Timothy said, “Sierra, look at this. She’s still making up lies! I can’t take it anymore. I’m going to find her right now and confront her face-to-face. I’m gonna ask her straight up what the hell she’s been doing!”

Sierra tried to calm Timothy down. She said, “The more you react like this, the more it looks like we’re guilty. Just wait. We won’t skip a single step in handling this.”

It was a shame they’d been in such a rush earlier and hadn’t filmed anything. If they had, they could’ve fought back right

away.

Sierra’s eyes grew cold for a moment, then she suddenly smiled. She said, “Let’s have her come with us to the police station and explain everything to the cops.”

Timothy blinked in confusion.

Sierra brought the whole wildlife rescue team along and reported it to the cops.

When Elliot heard the news, he rushed back to join them and give his statement as well.

Sierra was someone the brass had told the cops to keep an eye on, so they didn’t dare drag their feet. As soon as she explained the situation, they immediately went to find Celia.

Meanwhile, Celia was still live, and her stream had already pulled in over a hundred thousand viewers.

This was the peak of her streaming career. Her sales had already smashed past 3 million.

Celia was dead set on keeping the show going for as long as she could, determined to keep selling until there was nothing

left to sell.

But right in the middle of her broadcast, an employee came running over in a panic and said, “Celia, the police are here.” The chat exploded.
