Chapter 224 | Lied To You
Celia was right in the middle of her livestream when she was abruptly dragged off.
Her fans went ballistic, flooding the internet with demands for answers.
At that moment, Sierra’s livestream suddenly started.
Her fans couldn’t believe she’d go live right now of all times, but when they joined, they realized it was actually a mediation
room.
Sierra and Celia were sitting across from each other.
The cop in the middle cleared his throat and said, “Ms. Belle, what do you have to say about spreading rumors about Ms. Sterling and her team?”
Celia had expected Sierra to call the cops, but she didn’t think it would happen this fast.
Plus, she’d just gotten served with a lawsuit. Sierra had already hired Sunshine Law Firm to sue her.
But Celia wasn’t scared at all.
Seeing Sierra was live, she put on a pitiful act and said, “I have no idea what you’re talking about, officer. I’m the real victim here. Why are you accusing me of spreading rumors right off the bat?”
Sierra wasn’t surprised at all by Celia’s response.
She said, “If you don’t want to admit it, Ms. Belle, that’s fine. Trust me, I’ve got ways to make you remember exactly what went down this afternoon.
“My lawyer’s already saved every word you said on your livestream. I hope you’re ready to own up to everything you said.”
Celia’s face stiffened.
Elliot, sitting next to Sierra, had dropped his usual dramatic flair.
He still looked calm and composed in front of everyone.
Still, seeing Sierra become the main target of online hate and spotting someone photoshopped her into a fake memorial photo on the way to the station, Elliot was so furious he wished he could make Celia pay a thousand times over.
No matter how many times Elliot had those photos taken down, they just kept popping up like flies, impossible to get rid of.
Elliot’s voice was icy, sending a chill through the room. He said, “We’re live now too, so you better watch your mouth and think twice before you say anything.”
Celia leaned back in her chair, totally fearless. She knew Sierra and her team didn’t have a shred of evidence that she’d abused or killed any sheep.
The cop felt a surge of frustration seeing how brazen and fearless Celia was acting.
With years of experience under his belt, he could tell when someone was lying, and Celia’s story didn’t line up with Sierra’s report at all. She was clearly lying.
But as a police officer, he had to remain impartial.
So even though he was angry, the cop maintained his professional composure and asked, “Ms. Belle, you said during your livestream that Ms. Sterling suddenly confronted you and accused you. If you truly did nothing, why would she accuse you?”
Celia shot back, “How should I know? Maybe Ms. Sterling just had a sudden burst of compassion. Since she’s such an
animal lover.”
The wildlife rescue team snorted with laughter, unable to hold back their sarcasm.
By now, Sierra’s livestream had blown past a million viewers, and the chat was exploding, comments shooting past like fireworks.
Ethan said, “We only stepped in because we heard the sheep screaming. You were filming a whole roast lamb video, but just to hype up the atmosphere, you grabbed a stick as thick as your arm and started whacking its legs and bashing its head.
‘There’s a difference between slaughtering and outright cruelty. You get that, right, Ms. Belle?”
Celia’s face froze in shock.
She couldn’t believe Ethan really had the nerve il calent

evidence, why can’t we just speak the truth?”
Elliot jumped in right on cue. He said, “You’re just a wannabe Influencer. Seriously, do you think you’re even qualified to mess with us?”
That line hit like a punch to the gut.
The chat exploded.
One commented: [Damn, Mr. Paterson’s got a point. The wildlife rescue team and Mr. Paterson have real authority here. Celia’s totally outmatched!]
Another commented: [If Ethan is telling the truth, Celia seriously needs to be canceled.]
Someone commented: [I finally get what’s weird about all this. Celia keeps saying Sierra just popped up and accused her, but she never says what made Sierra go after her out of nowhere.]
One commented: [Sierra’s not some goody two-shoes. I’ve watched all her streams, and someone once asked her why she eats meat if she loves animals.
[She said there’s a line between slaughter and abuse. In the human world, livestock are raised and then killed for food. That’ s just the way things work; it’s how humans survive.
[In the wild, lions eat sheep, and when the lions die, their bodies get eaten by other animals. Their bones break down into soil, which grows next year’s grass, and then the herbivores eat that.
[It’s the circle of life, plain and simple. And when it comes to respecting life, Sierra really knows what she’s talking about.]
Another commented: [Celia’s totally lying, right? She looked totally freaked out just now.]
Celia was visibly rattled.
She couldn’t see what the livestream chat was saying, but her eyes kept flickering to her phone, whether she meant to or
not.
Finally, Celia shot back, defiant, “If you say I’m spreading rumors, then show me the evidence!”
“Of course, we have evidence. If we didn’t, would we even bother calling the police?” Ethan shot back.
He pulled out his phone and brought up Celia’s account.
Sierra took the phone, set it on the table, and slid it over to Celia, her voice laced with sarcasm. She said, “But really, Ms. Belle, we should thank you for so willingly handing us all the evidence yourself.”
“W-What?” Celia stammered.
She glanced down and saw that, out of nowhere, the whole sheep-killing scene from earlier had already been posted up on her socials.
In the video, one of the sheep’s legs was clearly broken, and after Celia went all out skinning the poor thing, its head was all busted up.
The sheep was covered in bruises: proof it’d been beaten up badly.
Sierra’s voice got louder as she said, “Is this enough proof for you? Want more? I’ve got plenty. Or maybe…”
“That’s enough!” Celia blurted out, her voice shaking.
Celia was completely losing it now.
Her lips quivered as she whispered, “Please, don’t show me any more. I’m sorry, okay? I was just being petty and chasing clout, so I made up all that stuff. Please, Ms. Sterling, forgive me.”
Sierra raised an eyebrow and asked, “So, are you finally admitting it?”
Celia just sat there, totally speechless, like her mouth was glued shut.
Sierra pressed, “Are you admitting you ordered your staff to beat and kill that sheep?
“Do you admit you started all those rumors? And-”
Celia said, “Please, stop, don’t say any more.”
Seeing Sierra so confident and in control, Celia completely lost it.
All the confidence she’d had before walking in vanished without a trace.
She lowered her head, stammering, “I-I admit it, just please, stop.”
Celia thought, ‘If Sierra brings out any more evidence, I am done for.’
Sierra nodded with satisfaction and looked at the officer. She said, “Pretty sure you heard her admit it, right? Whatever

comes next: detention or jail, just let the law handle it.”
With that, Sierra started to get up.
Suddenly remembering something, Sierra paused for a couple of seconds and turned to Celia. She said, “By the way, I forgot to tell you earlier. I was just messing with you. I don’t have any evidence whatsoever.”
Celia stared up in disbelief, only to meet Sierra’s eyes: sharp, unblinking, locked right on her.
Sierra’s gaze was dripping with mockery.
Celia’s face drained of all color, turning almost transparent with shock.
She thought, ‘I’m screwed!’
