Chapter 231 Caught In A Trap
Sierra stood in the shadows, barely noticed as the keeper rushed past.
When he squinted and finally saw her face, his eyes widened in shock. Speaking in the Thalasian language, he said, “You’re that tourist from today! What are you doing here?”
After that, he shot a glare at his companions, his eyes full of fury. He said, “You injured my friend and stole our tiger. I’m going to have the police arrest you.”
As he spoke, a smug smile crept onto his lips, and his eyes flicked over to the camera in the corridor outside the room.
Sierra glanced in the direction he was looking.
In that instant, a chill ran down her spine.
She thought, ‘Wait, something’s off!
‘Lucas already knew we would be coming tonight. He’d set the whole trap ahead of time.’
Seeing the keeper’s smug grin, Sierra felt like she’d been thrown into a freezer; her whole body went cold.
Soon, the lights around the room blazed on.
Realizing things were about to go south, Sierra shouted, “Run!”
Ethan might be the team leader, but he always listened to Sierra. Ryan wasn’t exactly a team player, but he’d still follow Sierra’s lead.
They took off running.
Timothy even threw his shirt over Kiki’s head.
They dashed out of the room and into the front courtyard, but the keepers knew Tiger Haven like the back of their hand.
The keepers came flooding in from every direction. It was obvious they’d been lying in wait.
Lucas strode out of the main hall, pointing at Sierra. He demanded, “Ms. Sierra Sterling, is this how all you Hustralians act? Daring to steal right in providence’s own house?”
Kiki, in Timothy’s arms, shivered when Lucas called out.
It squirmed out from under Timothy’s shirt, poking its head out. It shouted, “Sierra didn’t steal anything! I came because I wanted to!”
Even though the cub tried to act tough, it was way too young. Its voice sounded more like a kitten meowing than anything
scary.
Under the moonlight, Lucas narrowed his eyes as the little cub yelled at him.
Instead of responding, he simply raised his hand and let it fall. He ordered, “Seize them.”
Everyone knew what to do: run for it!
They made a break for the gate, but the keepers were already there, blocking the exit.
“Guess we’re gonna have to scale the wall again,” Sierra muttered.
Sophie said, “Ethan, you go up first and help us from the top. I’ll bring up the rear.”
Ethan nodded and scrambled up the wall in no time.
Then Sierra, Timothy, and the others climbed up after him, one by one.
The fight had already broken out between the keepers and Sophie, chaos erupting all around.
With more keepers swarming in, Sierra shot out her hand and called out, “Sophie, grab my hand!”
Sophie was tough as nails, and she could fight clean or dirty. She’d already taken down over a dozen keepers, leaving them sprawled all over the ground.
Ethan, Alex, and Mark were up on the wall, helping out from above.
Just then, the keepers guarding the gate threw it open, trying to trap them from both sides.
As soon as Sophie heard the commotion, she pushed off with both feet, grabbed Sierra’s hand mid-air, and scrambled up the wall without a second thought.
Lucas’s face went dark as he saw them making a break for it. He yelled, “Get them!”
The chase was on.

Chapter 231 Caught In A Trap
They barely knew the area, and it felt like they were out in the sticks: just scrubby bushes everywhere and nowhere to hide.
Their car was still a good quarter-mile off.
As the keepers were almost on top of them, a weak voice with a thick Hustralian accent suddenly echoed from an alley squeezed between some local houses.
The voice called out, “Sierra, Ethan! Quit running! Get over here!”
Sierra stopped dead in her tracks when she heard the voice.
There, in the alley, was Wesley, dressed head-to-toe in black, his striking blond hair catching everyone’s eye as he waved frantically at them.
