Chapter 248 I’ll Find Someone To Save You
Out on the water, Ethan and Sophie were cruising on a yacht, tailing the hawksbill turtle.
Suddenly, a ship’s horn blared behind them, making everyone jump.
They all whipped around without thinking.
Something felt off, and they sensed it right away.
Timothy asked, “Why is that ship getting farther and farther away from us?”
Ryan blurted out, “Wait, why is the big ship turning around? Harold is seriously going to leave me out here in the middle of the ocean!”
Alex analyzed seriously, “So Sierra was right. Harold is definitely shady, and now he’s trying to silence us for good.”
Timothy and Ryan clung to each other, their eyes full of despair.
Timothy said, “We’re done for. The ship’s gone, and the nearest shore is at least seven or eight hours away. There’s no way our yacht can make it that far.”
He added, “And once night falls, the temperature out here can drop to freezing. All we’ve got are our wetsuits, literally nothing else. We’re in deep trouble.”
Timothy let out a sigh and said, “If I’d known things would turn out like this, I would’ve drawn my game cards this morning!”
Ryan said, “Man, if I’d known, I would’ve packed way more snacks.”
Everyone turned to look at him.
Ryan scratched his head, grinned sheepishly, and unzipped his dive bag. “I’m a total snack addict. Figured we’d be stuck out here for hours, so I brought some water and snacks for everyone. Just wish I’d thought to bring some bread.”
Ryan’s dive bag was almost empty except for a hefty stash of energy bars and chocolate, at least a few pounds worth.
Everyone was speechless.
Sierra grinned. “Ryan, you’re a real lifesaver today.”
Ryan scratched his head, a little embarrassed by the compliment, but then his face turned worried again. “But these snacks won’t keep us going for long, and we still have to rescue the little dolphin.”
Oddly enough, everyone except Timothy stayed perfectly calm.
Ryan paused, and then blurted out, “Wait, you guys knew Harold was planning to leave us behind from the start?”
“We didn’t know for sure,” Sierra explained. “But Ethan and I never thought Harold would pull something shady like this.
“So this morning, I made sure to tell him that once we found the little dolphin, I’d have the Audit Team look into things.”
Ryan blinked, a little slow on the uptake. “So you were tricking him?”
He thought, ‘I knew it. The Audit Team isn’t that easy to call in.’
Sierra nodded. “Yeah, I called the head of the Audit Team last night. As soon as Harold gets to shore, they’ll be waiting for him.”
Ryan was left speechless.
Timothy whined, “Come on, Sierra, that’s cold! We’re supposed to be in this together! You told Eeef but left me in the dark? I legit thought I was a goner out here!”
Timothy was freaking out and yelling his head off.
Alex just reached over and slapped him on the back.
Timothy was speechless.
Alex shot him a look like he was a total idiot. “Sierra didn’t tell anyone. We all just put two and two together.”

Timothy instantly felt like a complete clown.
His face twisted in misery, like he’d just eaten something nasty.
He’d thought Sierra was leaving him out, but it turned out that he was just the odd one out in the group.
Timothy almost cried out loud, feeling totally handlared

He glanced at Ryan, who still looked all wide-eyed at moocent Wall, you knew what Sierra was up to, too?” Ryan shook his head, totally honest.

Timothy let out a huge sigh of relief.
He thought, ‘See? It’s not that I’m clueless. Sierra’s just way too sneaky.’
But then Ryan chimed in, “I honestly had no clue what Sierra was planning. But I know Sierra wouldn’t do anything unless she was sure about it.
“If she could’ve called the Audit Team yesterday, why wait until everything was over? That just seems kind of pointless.”
Timothy was left speechless.
He thought, ‘Great, now I look even dumber.’
Timothy was sulking at the back of the yacht, questioning his whole existence, while the rest of the crew was secretly cracking up but kept it to themselves.
Just then, the hawksbill turtle came to a stop and said, “Here we are. Right below us!”
The hawksbill turtle had been rehearsing that line in its head the whole trip, so when it finally spoke, it sounded way more natural.
Seeing everyone looking around at the surface, the hawksbill turtle slapped the water with its flipper. “Underneath! It’s… It’s tangled up down there!”
Sierra instantly caught on.
“The hawksbill turtle says the little dolphin’s tangled up, probably in coral or seaweed. Let’s go check it out,” Sierra said.
With that, Sierra dove right in.
Timothy and Mark had only just learned how to swim, and they were still pretty shaky at it, so the two of them just hung back on the yacht.
The hawksbill turtle guided everyone down to the ocean floor.
The spot they dove into was about 50 feet deep, with a slope of soft white sand and all sorts of vibrant, colorful coral standing tall along it.
The deeper they swam, the murkier it got.
Luckily, the hawksbill turtle was totally at home in these deep waters, and it led Sierra and the crew straight to where the little dolphin was stuck.

“It’s… It’s right here,” the hawksbill turtle stammered.
The hawksbill turtle stopped in front of a coral cluster and motioned toward the inside.
Without missing a beat, Sierra kicked off and headed straight for the coral cluster.
Sure enough, Sierra picked up a weak call for help coming from deep within the dense coral cluster.
Right in the middle of the coral, a white dolphin was wedged among the reef tangled up in seaweed.
Most heartbreaking of all, its lower jaw was exposed, raw pink-white skin showing as it twisted helplessly, whimpering in pain.
This was the baby dolphin Cherry had fought so hard to return to the sea for.
Sierra breathed a sigh of relief and quickly swam down toward the dolphin.
Deep diving wasn’t for the faint of heart. Every extra foot down squeezed people harder, and the pressure got brutal real
fast.
Just as Sierra was about to pull the seaweed off the little dolphin, she suddenly felt something cool and floppy wrap around her neck.
Then, from above, came a voice as soft as a marshmallow, “Don’t be scared, human. I’ll get you back up right away.”
Sierra just stared at it, completely confused.
It was hard to move or see clearly down there, so Sierra had no idea what kind of sea creature was dragging her toward the surface.
She wanted to explain herself, but she couldn’t exactly talk underwater,
So Sierra reached out and patted whatever was holding her, hoping it would let her go.
But the sea creature trying to rescue Sierra thought she was about to pass out, so it gave it everything it had, huffing and puffing, even making little noises as it struggled to pull her up.
Finally, completely spent, it let go of Sierra and swam right up in front of her.

There, a chubby, round sea otter pup popped up in front of Sierra.
The little otter had a perfectly round head, huge glistening black eyes, and a shiny wet nose. Floating in the water, it looked almost like an oversized water rat.
Sierra froze for a second.
But the little otter was still struggling, giving it everything it had to haul Sierra up.
It was just a tiny thing, using every bit of baby strength it had, but the beautiful human girl kept sinking deeper, no matter how hard it tried.
“Hang tight, I’m gonna get my buddies to help you out!” the little otter said.
With that, the little otter shimmied its pudgy body and darted off into the deep, but kept glancing back to shout, “Please don’t die, human!
“Promise me you’ll wait for me!”
