Chapter 249 The Little Otter Tries To Rescue
Sierra blinked.
She realized the otter thought she was drowning, which was why it was desperately holding her up by the neck, trying to keep her above the water.
Thinking about it, Sierra couldn’t help but laugh and sigh at the same time.
‘Who knows when that little otter will be back, Sierra thought, ‘and I still have to save the baby dolphin.’ With that in mind, she headed back into the coral reef.
The baby dolphin weighed only less than 100 pounds, so picking it up was no problem. The real issue was that they didn’t have any tools with them, and there was just way too much seaweed tangled around the dolphin.
There was no way to clear it all away quickly.
But now, the baby dolphin was barely hanging on. It could barely even move anymore.
Just as everyone was diving into the coral reef to help, the little otter from earlier showed up with a whole group of otters
It had been so focused on Sierra before that it hadn’t even realized there were so many people in the water. Without needing any instructions, the otters sprang into action, teaming up in twos and threes.
One otter would loop itself around someone’s neck, another would wrap around their waist, and a third would hold up their feet.
Then, completely ignoring everyone’s protests, they hauled everyone straight out of the water and onto the shore.
The hawksbill turtle nearby was trying to protest, “No… that’s not…”
But before it could finish, everyone had already been dragged out of the water by these dozens of well-meaning but slightly goofy little otters.

On the surface, Timothy and Mark kept their eyes glued to the water, ready to haul everyone out as fast as they could the moment someone popped up.
In less than ten minutes, Sierra was the first to break the surface.
Then another head appeared, and then another…
Finally, the hawksbill turtle poked its head out, looking all flustered but still moving at a snail’s pace. “Otters… you… you made a mistake.”
But the otters couldn’t care less about the hawksbill turtle.
The little otter that started the rescue saw that the humans were safe and squeaked happily, “Humans, we saved you! No need to thank us or anything!”
Sierra hadn’t even had time to take out her mouthpiece when Ryan called out, “Guys, we weren’t drowning. We were trying to rescue a dolphin!”
They’d finally managed to dive all the way down, only to get yanked right back up by these little guys, kicking and protesting the whole way.
These otters were so determined to save people. No matter how much Ryan kicked and squirmed, those otters just clung
on for dear life.
Forget drowning-he was about to get squeezed to death by otters instead.
The little otter blinked in confusion.
The otter squeaked, “Wait, you guys weren’t drowning?”
Still baffled, it muttered, “But every time I save someone, humans always thank me.
“They open oysters for me, and even help me catch sea urchins.”
The little otter gave Sierra a pitiful, confused look with its big eyes. “Did we do something wrong?”
Sierra couldn’t possibly be mad at the little otter
Smiling gently, Sierra reassured it, “You didn’t do anything wrong at all. We should be thanking you for bringing us back to
shore.”
Successfully unlocked!
Sierra paused, and then beamed at the little otthon, our help with. Can you give me a hand?”
The little otter, eager to make up for earlier, nodded enthusiastically. “Okay!”

Sierra said, “I’ve heard you otters are some of the toughest hunters in the sea, guardians of the sea surface, and like tiny boats that never tip over, even in a storm.
“There’s a baby dolphin tangled up in the coral and seaweed right now. Can you help us rescue it?”
“Really? For real?” the little otter squeaked, eyes wide with excitement.
It didn’t even hear the rest of what Sierra said-totally stuck on what she’d said before.
It thought, ‘Whoa, we’re actually that famous in the ocean and with humans?
“Toughest hunters in the sea?
“Guardians of the sea surface!
“Tiny boats that never tip over, even in a storm!
“Wow!
“I can’t believe we otters have such an awesome image!”
The little otter nodded excitedly. “Yep, that’s exactly how you should hype us up!”
Sierra just stared, totally thrown off.
Sierra couldn’t help but think, ‘That’s not the point, little buddy!’
Sierra asked, “So, will you help us?”
“No problem! You guys don’t even need to dive in. We’ll go rescue that baby dolphin for you,” the little otter squeaked. With that, the whole otter squad plunged into the water. In less than ten minutes, they surfaced again, bits of seaweed still dangling from their mouths.
The little otters formed a circle, lifting up the baby dolphin-tens of pounds and all-carefully in their paws.
“Humans, we brought it back!” the little otter announced with a triumphant squeak.
Sierra hadn’t expected the little otters to be so quick and adorable. She couldn’t resist petting them.
Right away, the little guys rolled onto their backs, showing off their bellies for her to rub.
Sierra dug out some ocean-friendly biscuits from her dive bag, handed them out to the otters, and only then did she head off
It was three in the afternoon, and the sun was beating down hard. The yacht was made of metal, and it was scorching hot
inside.
The baby dolphin couldn’t stay on the yacht for long, but after being tangled in seaweed for so long and not eating, it was completely wiped out.
Sierra tried to put it back in the water, but the little dolphin was too exhausted to even move.
With no other choice, everyone had to scoop seawater onto the yacht, just enough to keep it from tipping over. They
covered the baby dolphin with a cotton cloth and kept pouring water over it again and again.
“We can’t keep going like this,” Alex said, his voice tight with concern. “We’ve got water and food, but the baby dolphin doesn’t. We need to get it a nutrient shot, and fast.”
Alex had been looking after the baby dolphin nonstop, never stopped pouring water over it.
But when he saw the little dolphin getting weaker and weaker, he couldn’t hide the worry in his eyes.
But Sierra stayed calm, glancing at her waterproof watch. “They should be here any minute now.”
“What?” Alex blurted out, stunned.
Sierra looked up at the sky, and the others followed her gaze.
Five military camouflage helicopters came flying in from a distance, hovering right above them.
Meanwhile, on the yacht, Harold stood on the deck, and not a single one of his subordinates dared to say a word.
On the way back, Harold had warned everyone. If anyone dared to speak out of turn, they could kiss their peaceful days goodbye.
Everyone had witnessed just how ruthless and scheming Harold could be, so even though they knew what he’d done, none of them dared to stand up to him.
They all understood that if anyone tried to oppose him now, Harold would probably have them tossed into the sea without a second thought.

After all, out here on the ocean, it wasn’t exactly unusual for someone to end up dead or just disappear from a boat. Seeing his subordinates all keeping their mouths shut, Harold let out a cold snort.
“We’re about to hit shore,” Harold warned, his voice cold as ice. “This is your final warning. Remember what you’re supposed to say, and what you’re not. Don’t go running your mouth.”
That one line was enough to make everyone on deck freeze up, looking like a bunch of terrified quails.
Just then, the yacht rumbled as it started heading for the dock.
Harold changed his tune in a flash. The second he saw the police waiting on shore, he put on his most harmless, friendly look.
As soon as the yacht docked, Harold’s eyes got all teary. He scrambled off the boat, looking all flustered, and made a beeline for the cops. “Officers, sorry for keeping you waiting. I’m sure you’ve already heard what happened, right?” There were over thirty cops waiting at the dock. Harold glanced around and noticed that even the police chief he was familiar with had to stand aside.
Three hours after the boat had sailed off, Harold reported it to the police.
He already had his excuse ready. He claimed Sierra had ignored instructions and insisted on heading out to sea with her friends, only to get swept away by a huge wave in the deep ocean, and no one could find her.
The police jumped on it immediately.
But Harold wasn’t worried at all.
After all, Sierra was young and impulsive. Saying she ignored orders and insisted on heading out was totally believable, nobody would even question it.
When the lead cop didn’t say a word, Harold froze for a second. Then he took off his glasses and, making a big show of it, wiped his eyes with his pudgy hands.

“It’s all my fault,” he sighed, acting all regretful. “If only I’d tried harder to stop her.”
Harold went on, “I failed to protect the expert team. I’m ready to accept whatever punishment the organization throws at
me.”
Harold figured that after all that, the lead cop would at least say something.
But instead of responding, the cop stepped right up to him, eyes cold and voice sharp. “Are you absolutely sure Ms. Sterling was accidentally swept away by a wave?”
Harold froze for a moment, and then nodded emphatically. “There were plenty of staff on board. Why would I lie, officer?” “Oh, really?” The cop let out a sharp, mocking laugh, arching his brow. “Are you absolutely sure it was Ms. Sterling who refused to follow orders?”
“Y-Yes, that’s right,” Harold stammered, feeling the cop’s aura suffocating him, making it hard to breathe.
The lead cop moved out of the way, revealing Sierra and the others, now in clean clothes, all eyes fixed on Harold, not saying a word.
The cop challenged, “That’s not what Ms. Sterling told us.”
