Chapter 251

Sierra was already used to Thomas’s way of talking.

But he sounded really excited, so she asked, “Mr. Monroe, what happened?”

Thomas chuckled on the other end of the line. “You remember that empty lot behind WonderWild Zoo? Well, an oceanarium building suddenly appeared out of thin air today.

“I went in with Mr. Carter, and it’s just as big as the area where all our land animals live now!”

Sierra was stunned.

She told Sophie she needed to use the restroom and then found one about 300 feet away. Once she was in a stall, she quickly entered WonderWild Zoo in the System.

Sure enough, from her view, WonderWild Zoo had doubled in size, and a towering oceanarium now stood on the back hill of the animal park.

Sierra gasped and quickly exited the System.

Thomas was still on the phone, so Sierra quickly asked, “Is everyone staying calm?”

Thomas laughed. “Not sure if your System is acting up again, but for some reason, our online ticket sales crashed and the tech team couldn’t fix it after three days.

“Even the computers at the ticket booths went down when people tried to buy tickets in person. So I decided to give the keepers and the animals a few days off.

“I’ve already fenced off the area around the oceanarium with metal sheets, and drones aren’t allowed to fly over it. I figure we’ll wait a bit before telling the public the oceanarium is ready

Thomas was the guy the government put in charge of stuff like this, so Sierra didn’t have any objections.

She also told Thomas about the progress they’d made so far.

Thomas said, “You guys got it done that fast? I’ll have the trucks ready to move all the marine creatures into the oceanarium.”

They hung up soon after.

Today was nothing but good news, and even Sierra, who was usually poker-faced, couldn’t help but crack a smile, her dimples showing for the first time in ages.

Sophie remained silent, but when she saw Sierra so happy, even her frosty demeanor seemed to thaw a little.

Sierra met up with the wildlife rescue team.

Life at sea was no joke. When they finally got off the boat, their legs were so wobbly that they could barely stand.

But after half a month, they really had a lot to show for it.

Ethan said, “Honestly, if it weren’t for Leah and Finn, we would’ve been stuck out at sea for another half a year.

“After we explained everything to them, they helped us round up a whole bunch of elderly, sick, and injured marine

creatures.”

Having a cheat code really made all the difference. Stuff got done way faster.

Chapter 251

“I’ll have someone move them into the oceanarium at the park, Sierra said.

Sierra shared all the good news she’d heard today with Ethan and the others.

The wildlife rescue team’s eyes went wide in disbelief.

Timothy blurted out, “Holy crap, is this System from the future or what? It’s so high-tech!”

Sierra could only sigh and shake her head.

She’d asked the System where it came from before, but all it ever told her was that it was some kind of futuristic tech, never anything more.

Sierra spent a few days chilling in Harborty, swung by WonderWild Zoo’s second site to check on things, and since everything was on track, she stuck around for a few more days before heading out.

But just a day before they were about to leave, the cop handling the case suddenly called Sierra and the others over to the police station.

The

cop

in charge was Grady Cole. He had deep-set eyes and a faint scar on his forehead. If it weren’t for the air of righteousness about him, he’d look like he belonged on the wrong side of the law.

Grady politely poured everyone a glass of water and said, “I called you all here today not just to update you on Harold’s case, but there’s something else I need to tell you.”

As he spoke, Grady slid his laptop over to the group.

“I checked the case files. You guys should recognize this website, right?” he said.

Just one glance, and Sierra’s eyes locked onto the screen.

‘Isn’t this the Darknet Animal Hub Lucas was always hanging out at back when we were at Tiger Haven?’ Sierra thought.

“Was Harold into abusing cats, too?” Sierra asked.

Grady shook his head. “We haven’t found any proof that he actually hurt any cats himself.

“But he did admit he was obsessed with watching cat torture videos, and he’d regularly put up rewards for them on the site.

“Later, his bounties got so huge that the folks running the Darknet Animal Hub started paying attention.

“They sent him hundreds of those videos and even bumped him up to one of their so-called ‘Top Ten Guardians’ Over the years, almost 80% of the dirty money Harold embezzled ended up funneled straight into that site.”

Sierra couldn’t help but frown at that.

“Has the tech team managed to track down who started the Darknet Animal Hub?” she asked.

Grady said, “No luck yet. The IP is in Silvania, and whoever’s behind it is a real tech whiz. Their skills are on par with any of our cyber detectives.

“Plus, since it’s an international case, we have to go through Silvania’s authorities, so it’s going to take a long time to sort out.”

Grady paused, his tone growing more serious. “The Darknet Animal Hub has over a million users, and right now we’re focusing our investigation on which Hustralian users are active on the site.”

He sighed, a bit helpless. “There aren’t any specific laws in Hustralia that protect cats and dogs, so we’re forced to focus on those who post bounties online to hunt wild animals.”

Sierra was well aware of that.

“Thanks for all your hard work, Mr. Cole,” Sierra said.

Grady stood up. “It’s what we’re here for. Harold’s probably looking at life in prison, maybe even the death penalty. I’ll let you know right away if we get any updates on the Darknet Animal Hub, Ms. Sterling.”

“Okay,” Sierra said.

After leaving the police station, everyone was getting ready to head to the airport.

But to their surprise, Elliot was waiting outside. The moment he spotted Sierra, he practically bounced over, looking way too

eager.

“Elliot, what are you doing here?” Sierra asked, a bit surprised.

Elliot shot a quick glance at Sophie and said, “I heard you guys were leaving, and I’m heading back, too. Why not come with me on my private jet?”

Elliot leaned in, lowering his voice. “Come on, Sierra, just say yes Flying private is pricey anyway, and it doesn’t matter if it’s just me or a whole crew, same cost.

“Might as well kick back and enjoy the perks, right?”

Sierra was speechless.

Elliot took her silence as a yes.

He wasted no time, grabbing her and pulling her into the car.

Sophie’s lips twitched, but she just slipped into the car without a word.

Taking a private jet really was a whole lot more convenient.

After dropping Sierra off at WonderWild Zoo, Elliot could see she was wiped out, so he let her be and didn’t hang around.
