Chapter 253
Jon, what the hell are these?” Shawn blurted out.

Shawn’s vision blurred for a second. ‘Maybe I’m just so wiped out from helping at the office lately that I’m starting to see things.
‘Otherwise, how could there be so many dead animals in the house, their bodies twisted in pain?”
Jonathan’s heart was pounding, completely thrown off.
There was barely any room to step, so he didn’t even bother changing his shoes, carefully navigated around the entryway, and slipped into the living room.
“Sierra?” Jonathan called out.
Jonathan immediately caught sight of Sierra sitting on the couch
She stood out in the room. Her thick hair flowed down to her chest, her face was bare, not a hint of makeup, and she wore a simple black T-shirt with white cargo pants, giving her a sharp, almost aloof vibe.
Sierra looked over, her gaze calm and distant, barely reacting to the sound.
She didn’t look the least bit surprised to see the two brothers walk in.
But Sharon, as if she’d finally found someone to rely on, sprang to her feet from the couch.
“Mom, why are there so many dead animals in the house? Seriously, where did they all come from?” Jonathan blurted out, his voice full of disbelief.
Sharon had been holding back her tears all this time, but the moment she saw her sons walk in, she just broke down, sobbing uncontrollably.
“It was Natalie! She killed them!” Sharon cried out, her voice trembling.
Jonathan’s and Shawn’s faces changed instantly, both of them looking completely stunned.
Shawn’s brows knitted tighter. “Mom, what do you mean Natalie killed them? Are you saying all these animals are her doing? That’s impossible!”
He was thinking exactly what Sharon had just been thinking.
They’d watched Natalie grow up. There was no way she could’ve killed so many animals right under their noses without them ever noticing.
And if he was seeing things right, those animals looked like they been through hell before they died.
“It’s true,” Sharon said, her voice trembling. “Natalie was twisted from the start. She secretly joined a site just for abusing cats and dogs. There were over seven hundred animals, and none of us had a clue.”
She thought, ‘No wonder Natalie was always so ruthless and crue, no matter what she did.
‘From the very beginning, Natalie was a demon.
‘Seriously, how many kids out there could hide animal corpses like it was nothing when they were still in grade school?’
Sharon’s eyes were red from crying.

Shawn’s face was ghostly pale, his lips trembling.
He couldn’t help but think back to that kitten he’d picked up outside school as a kid. It only survived a couple of days before falling from the second floor and dying.
Back then, he thought it was his fault for not closing the window before he left. But the villa only had two floors, and the kitten was so tiny. It shouldn’t have died from a fall like that, bleeding out instantly.
When Natalie saw how heartbroken he was, she sweetly said shed help him bury the kitten.
He was so caught up in his own grief back then that he didn’t even consider anything else.
Even when things started feeling weird later, he never even thought Natalie could be involved.
Shawn’s eyes were bloodshot as he yelled, “Mom, people like Natalie belong behind bars! If I ever get my hands on her, I swear I’ll-”
Sierra stood up from the couch, her tone cool. “We’ll handle it from here, Mr. Sterling.
“Natalie slaughtered over a hundred wild animals. Once we’re back, the cops will put out a warrant for her. Even if she runs to the ends of the earth, I’ll help the police hunt her down and make her pay.”
Shawn started to say something, but stopped himself.
He wanted to speak up, but the shame was too much that he just couldn’t find the words.
Finally, he just clenched his jaw and forced out, “Sierra, I’m sorry
“No matter what you’re apologizing for, it’s too late. The damage is done. If saying sorry could actually fix things, we wouldn’t need the police, would we, Mr. Sterling?” Sierra said coldly, her tone cutting.
Shawn’s face went ghostly pale.
Just as Sierra was about to leave, Shawn suddenly grabbed her hand. “Sierra, I saw Payton being abused… I was the one who covered for Natalie.
“I let her get away with it, kept quiet, and never told you the truth. I’m really sorry for what I did.”
As soon as Shawn finished, Sharon and Jonathan both turned to him, their faces full of shock and disbelief.
Shawn lowered his head, his voice barely audible. “I didn’t want to help Natalie, but I was blinded by my own stupidity back
then.
“And Payton had bitten me before, so I figured Natalie was just messing around, nothing serious… I never thought she’d actually try to kill Payton.”
He never imagined Natalie would actually try to kill Payton.
