No one had any objections, and everyone quickly jumped out of the car and rushed over to the scene.

When they got there, the accident was even more gruesome than they’d imagined.

It was a chain-reaction crash. At the front was a flashy red Ferrar and the driver was a young, stylish guy.

The back of the Ferrari was completely smashed up, with half the front end shoved into the side landscaping, its hazard lights flashing.

In the middle was a silver van, and it was a total wreck, too. Both the front and back were all mangled and bent out of shape.

Luckily, everyone seemed to be okay.

Sierra had just stepped to the front of the crowd when she saw the Ferrari driver banging on the van’s window.

The young man shouted, “Come on, man! Can you even watch where you’re going? Stop blaming everything on dogs. You were driving like you were being chased by a serial killer or something! And now you’re actually trying to blame me for this?

“Do you even know how much my car is worth? Ten million! I was already planning to just go through my own insurance, since there’s no way you could afford this.

“But it’s been half an hour, you rear-ended my Ferrari, not a single apology, and now you’re yelling at me?”

The young man took off his sunglasses, revealing a pair of charming brown eyes.

Sierra raised an eyebrow. She really didn’t expect to bump into Samuel Summers here.

Samuel was her senior in business. More than ten years ago, when he was at the height of his fame, he got boycotted and nearly quit, and inherited a massive fortune.

But then he pulled off an impressive comeback thanks to a reality show with adorable kids.

Samuel might be forty now, but in person, he barely looked a day over twenty-eight. The guy really knew how to keep himself looking young.

Sierra still remembered when she first broke into showbiz. She was cast as a side character, not a ton of lines, but not nothing either. The director kept nitpicking her performance, making it nearly impossible for her to nail her scenes.

Samuel had moved behind the camera over ten years ago, and it just so happened he was the director of that project.

Back then, Sierra barely knew anything about the entertainment world. It was her first time working with Samuel, and after all those scenes kept getting redone, she figured that with his reputation for having a short fuse, he’d definitely tear into her.

But instead, Samuel just stared at her for a good ten seconds, and then suddenly asked, “Are you scared I’m going to yell at you?”

Sierra just nodded, totally honest.

Samuel’s eyes went wide, a mix of disbelief and a little hurt on his face. “Sierra, I haven’t yelled at you once since you joined the crew, right? What made you think I was so harsh?”

At that time, Sierra thought Samuel was the only one on set who was always losing his cool like a rocket.

They’d only been filming for a month, and already three female leads and two male leads had been replaced. Samuel was always roasting the actresses as “plastic faces” and the guys as “kid-bodied posers who only looked good in pictures.”

But thinking about it, Sierra realized he really hadn’t ever yelled at her.

Samuel had been in showbiz for ages. He always seemed all over the place, but when it came to art, he was a total genius, and he really looked out for every actor he worked with.

Sierra still remembered Samuel saying to her, “Sierra, making it in this business is tough, and actually getting your face on screen is even rarer. You’re one of the few who’s got both talent and brains.”

Samuel would run lines with her, and when he found out she’d never had any formal acting training, he’d call up teachers from the art school just to give her some extra coaching.

Samuel was the one who truly discovered her.

Back in her previous life, when Sierra died, Samuel was interviewed on camera. He couldn’t help but express his even called out the Sterling family for being cold-blooded jerks.

After all that happened, it was the first time Sierra had run into Samuel since she traveled back.

She immediately called out, “Mr. Summers!”

Samuel was just about to lose his temper, ready to go off, when a calm, clear voice suddenly rang out. He turned his head on instinct and instantly spotted Sierra, who totally stood out in the crowd.

“Sierra?” he said, surprised.

Sierra asked, “Mr. Summers, are you okay?”

Samuel waved it off. “I’m fine, but my poor Ruby…” His voice was trembling, on the verge of tears.

Sierra was speechless as well.

That’s right. The Ferrari that got wrecked was called Ruby, and Samuel had been calling it his “wife” for ten years.

Samuel always drove his “wife” to work and back.

Now that his “wife” was gone, no wonder Samuel was losing it.

But with Samuel sounding like he was about to cry, Sierra found the words of comfort totally stuck in her throat.

In the end, she just blurted out, super awkwardly, “Mr. Summers, my condolences.”

Samuel looked at her, wordless.

But the more Samuel stewed, the madder he got. He whipped around and stomped over to the van. “Did you hear me? My Ruby is gone!

“Are you just gonna keep hiding in there like a scaredy-cat? Don’t think I won’t get someone to wreck your ride!”

Sierra was worried Samuel would end up trending for all the wrong reasons tomorrow, so she hurried over and said, “Mr. Summers, don’t get too worked up.

“You know, you can’t bring people back, but you can always fix a car! So don’t be too down about it.”

After that, Sierra glanced at the folks inside the van. The windows were tinted, so she couldn’t make out much. But she could see there were four or five people in there, and they all looked pretty freaked out.

So, she knocked on the window and said, “Let’s all get out and talk this through.”

Samuel scoffed, “Like they’d dare step out. The second they do, those dogs will be all over them. Must’ve done something sketchy to get the dogs going after them like that.”

Sierra paused, realizing she’d nearly forgotten about the dogs.

She looked around, but there was no sign of them anywhere.

“Did the dogs get spooked and run off?” Ryan asked, echoing exactly what Sierra was thinking.

Samuel shook his head. “Nope. God knows why, but those two dogs are just hiding out in the bushes. We’ve tried everything, but they won’t budge. The moment anyone from the van steps out, though, they’ll come flying out, ready to sink their teeth
