Chapter 71

Chapter 71

The cat abuser was Nick, the first person to kidnap Payton after Sierra’s time-traveling.

Last time, Nick almost had his leg broken by Sierra herself. This time, he was beaten by Ryan until his face was swollen beyond recognition.

But all Sierra could hear was people shouting cat abuser over and over.

Sierra stepped forward and hauled Ryan to his feet.

Ryan’s eyes were blazing with anger. He was about to snap at whoever was breaking up the fight, but when he turned and saw Sierra’s gorgeous face, he froze.

The curses he’d been about to spit out vanished instantly.

Ryan frowned. “Wait, are you that streamer I talked to before? Let go of me. I’m gonna beat the crap out of this bastard today.”

Sierra gripped Ryan’s shoulders tightly, keeping him from charging forward.

“Ryan. this is school, and today’s the day graduates come back for their diplomas. The place is crawling with school officials.

“If you hit him now, it’s assault, legally, you’ll be in trouble, and the school definitely won’t tolerate it,” Sierra warned.

Ryan was still pissed. He jabbed a finger at Nick, who was curled up on the ground, and, unable to hold back, gave him another hard kick, his mouth set in a stubborn line.

His eyes went red as Ryan yelled, “He’s a total cat abuser. I used to feed the stray cats at school all the time, but then they just vanished.

When I finally found them, they’d been tortured to death, they were in pieces, I couldn’t even tell which part belonged to which cat.

“And then, out of nowhere, videos of cats being abused suddenly showed up in our student chat groups. The cats in those videos? They were the strays from our school.”

Sierra asked, “So you tracked down Nick?”

“Hell yeah. Ryan snarled, looking like he wanted to rip Nick apart right there.

“I traced those cat abuse videos and realized they were all coming from the boys’ dorm in the south part of campus. Today, 1 caught him near the dorms, tying up a calico cat.

“He was cutting off its legs bit by bit with a knife, and then scalding it with boiling water from his thermos, Ryan spat, his voice shaking with rage.

“In just over a month he’s killed more than five cats,” Ryan added.

Some of the cats were skinned alive, their tendons ripped out. Others were roasted over alcohol burners until they died

And there was even a pregnant orange tabby. Nick stuffed her into a washing machine and let it spin until she was nearly drowned

Then be dragged her out, sliced open her belly with a knife, and stomped the kittens to death, one by one.

What Nick did was sick and inhuman. He was twisted beyond redemption

Sierra’s expression darkened.

“Nick, didn’t my last warning get through your thick skull?” Sierra said coldly.

Nick, sprawled on the ground, kept his hands clamped over his face, desperate to hide from his classmates and save some dignity.

When Sierra suddenly spoke, Nick looked up at her, panic written all over his face.

“S-Sierra?” Nick stammered, instantly remembering the pain of Sierra’s bat cracking against his leg. He blurted out, terrified, “Why are you here?”

Sierra didn’t say a word. She crouched down slowly, her deep eyes glinting with menace. “Didn’t I tell you to keep your tail between your legs from now on?”

Before Nick could even open his mouth to make excuses, Sierra just slapped him right across the face, no hesitation.

One slap wasn’t enough. Sierra started slapping him left and right, not holding back at all.

Ryan just stood there, totally stunned.

He never expected Sierra to be so quick and decisive. Watching those slaps land, Ryan couldn’t help but think, ‘Damn, that felt good!

Ryan wasn’t clueless. He could see there was some serious beef between Nick and Sierra.

And with Nick cowering like that, it was clear Sierra scared the crap out of him.

“Sierra, you know Nick?” Ryan shot Nick a nasty glare. “Let’s mess him up together.”

With that, Ryan hitched up his sleeves, cracked his neck, and his joints popped with a loud snap.

The crowd of students watching all acted like nothing was happening, turning a blind eye to the whole scene.

This time, Nick was truly terrified.

Just then, a school administrator walked over.

When he saw Nick’s face, swollen up, the official’s eyes went wide with anger. “What the hell happened here?” he barked.

Nick, spotting his lifeline, practically crawled over and clung to the administrator’s leg. “Sir, thank goodness you’re here. Sierra hit me.”

Ryan was a big deal, and Nick didn’t dare mess with him.

But Sierra was a whole different story. She’d gotten Nat thrown in jail, so her relationship with the Sterling family was a total mess right now.

Without the Sterling family backing her up, Nick thought he could deal with her easily now.

Seeing Nick looking all pleased with himself, Ryan was ready to own up and take the blame, but Sierra held him back.

Ryan shot Sierra a puzzled look, just about to ask what was going on, but Sierra cut him off, stepping forward.

When the administrator saw it was Sierra, his face instantly brightened.

Sierra had entered the veterinary medicine department as the top student, skipped grades, and won the scholarship every single year. The professors in the vet program were always mentioning her.

All of this left a strong impression on the administrator.

He spoke in a gentle tone, “Oh, it’s Sierra. What’s going on here? Why did you hit him?”

Nick was stunned.

‘Seriously? I just got my face rearranged, and the admin isn’t even grilling Sierra or threatening to expel her?’ he wondered. Why’s he talking to her like this is no big deal?’

Nick was on the verge of a meltdown, putting on a show. “Sir, just look at my face. I got totally wrecked. You’ve got to help me out.”

The administrator instinctively glanced at Nick, whose face looked unrecognizable after a beatdown.

There were still clear, red handprints stamped across his cheeks.

Then the administrator’s eyes landed on Sierra’s hands, and his face suddenly went stern. “Seriously, Sierra, you can’t just go around slapping him.”

Nick couldn’t hide his smug smile, convinced the administrator was finally going to put Sierra in her place.

After all, his family forked over millions in donations to the school every year, no way the admin wouldn’t take his side.

But before he could even wipe that smug grin off his face, it just froze there, teeth still showing.

The administrator put on a stern face and said, “Sierra, can’t you just talk things out with your classmates? Was it really necessary to start throwing punches? Didn’t your hand hurt from slapping him?”

“Wasn’t he supposed to be on my side?’ Nick thought, totally stunned. ‘Why the hell is he worried about Sierra’s hand?’
