Chapter 81
Chapter 81
The little Kaelenridge Sheep looked all serious as it nudged the car door with its fluffy, round head.
It was so adorable that it could melt anyone’s heart.
Sierra sighed and went over to open the door for the little one.
The little guy was bursting with energy, hopping right into the car and carefully checking out every corner of their car.
In the end, it found nothing, but when it spotted a bunch of greens in the trunk, it didn’t hesitate to start munching away.
It bleated, “Finally, I get to eat.
“So tasty!”
Its mouth worked at lightning speed, and tears sparkled in its eyes as its nose grew wet.
With every bite, it let out a happy little sound, like it was munching on heaven itself instead of plain veggies.
It was almost unbelievable: a Kaelenridge Sheep, not even a year old, managed to polish off all the food meant for the whole crew in a single sitting.
Alex couldn’t help but ask, “Is it really okay for it to eat that much?”
Sierra’s mouth twitched as she walked over to the little Kaelenridge Sheep, leaning against the car door. She asked, “So, you’ve eaten your fill and checked out the car. Does that mean you trust us now?”
The little Kaelenridge Sheep blinked, its eyes darting away, clearly avoiding her gaze.
Sierra raised an eyebrow and asked, “Not planning to tell us?”
The little Kaelenridge Sheep’s ears drooped, looking a bit sheepish. It said, “It’s not that I don’t want to tell you, I just got separated from my herd.”
Sierra raised an eyebrow, teasing, “So, you just showed up to score some free food and drinks?”
The little Kaelenridge Sheep jerked its head up, bleating anxiously. It said, “No, that’s not true! I’m not like that! My mom will definitely come find me!”.
The little Kaelenridge Sheep was absolutely sure of it.
It thought, ‘Mom loves me so much. Once she realizes I am missing, she’ll search everywhere. There is no way she’d ever
abandon me.’
Seeing the little Kaelenridge Sheep about to burst into tears, Sierra’s heart softened right away. She said, “Come on, let me help you find your mom, okay?”
The little one bounced around, overjoyed. It exclaimed, “Really? You’re the prettiest and kindest human I’ve ever met! My mom’s totally gonna love you!”
Out of all the humans here, Sierra was the only one whose vibe inade it feel truly comfortable.
At first glance, it just knew Sierra was a good person: pretty, clever, and super nice.
Lost in thought, the little Kaelenridge Sheep sighed just like a person would.
It said, “If only everyone were like you, then we wouldn’t be forced to change our migration routes.”

Sierra pressed her lips together, staying silent.
Changing migration routes might sound easy, but those original paths were marked by the lives of generations of Kaelenridge Sheep.
If they had to change now, a lot more Kaelenridge Sheep would die.
That’s exactly why Sierra was so determined to find the Kaelenridge Sheep herd and help them find their way back to their old migration route.
Sierra asked the little Kaelenridge Sheep where it had gotten separated from its herd. After camping for the night, they set out at first light, ready to keep searching for the Kaelenridge Sheep.
In the car, the little one snuggled in Sierra’s arms, its big, dark eyes filled with curiosity as it gazed out the window.
The wind whipped past at nearly ten thousand feet above sea level, the wheels rolling over gravelly ground. On both sides, endless snow-capped mountains stood like silent sentinels: nature’s most vivid masterpiece.
Sierra got ready to start her livestream in the car.
Yesterday, her stream pulled in 50,000 viewers. Even though they didn’t catch sight of any Kaelenridge Sheep, they still got to see plenty of stunning views with Sierra.
So today, tons of people were waiting for her to go live again.
As soon as Sierra started the stream and aimed the camera at the little Kaelenridge Sheep, its big, round eyes were full of energy and curiosity.
Sunlight poured through the window, making its reddish-brown fur glow with a warm, orange shine, like a piece of glowing
amber.
One viewer commented: [Wow, is that a Kaelenridge Sheep? Its eyes are absolutely gorgeous!]
Another commented: [No wonder they’re called the snow mountain spirits. Those eyes look so divine!],
Someone commented: [Did the streamer really find a Kaelenridge Sheep?]
With less than 10,000 viewers in the chat, Sierra glanced at the comments and replied, “We stumbled upon this little Kaelenridge Sheep after it got separated from its herd. Today, we’re heading out to keep searching for the rest of the herd.”
When the little Kaelenridge Sheep heard Sierra talking about it, it couldn’t help but peek at the phone screen, gave a curious bleat, and asked, “What’s this?”
Sierra didn’t just brush off the little one’s curiosity. She switched the camera to selfie mode, turning it on herself.
Her beautiful face flashed across the stream for just a moment. The viewers barely had time to gasp at Sierra’s looks before she tilted the phone back down, bringing the little Kaelenridge Sheep back into focus, its head adorably cocked to the side.
The little one blinked its big eyes, and when it noticed a Kaelenridge Sheep exactly like itself on the screen, it suddenly hopped up in surprise.
It bleated, sounding both surprised and excited.
It cried, “Oh my gosh! That’s me! I’ve only ever seen myself when I drink water. Did I end up trapped inside there?”
Sierra blinked in surprise.
She really hadn’t expected the little Kaelenridge Sheep actually to recognize itself.

She explained. “That’s you! Right now, a bunch of kind humans are really worried about you and your herd. They’re all asking me how you guys are doing.”
The little Kaelenridge Sheep wasn’t quite sure what was going on, but when it heard that so many humans cared about its kind, it perched proudly on Sierra’s lap and bleated excitedly at the camera.
The viewers watching the stream were practically dying from cuteness overload.
Seeing how much everyone adored the little Kaelenridge Sheep, Sierra decided to make it the star of the show.
Now and then, she’d pass along the messages of love from the audience, and each time, the Kaelenridge Sheep would bleat a polite little “thank you” right at the camera.
One viewer commented: [I wish the little Kaelenridge Sheep would give me a kiss!]
Another commented: [Sierra’s teammate kept trying to hug the Kaelenridge Sheep, but it just shoved him off with its hooves, totally ignoring him!]
Someone commented: [The guy next to Sierra must be Timothy, right? He’s so sulky he’s basically growing mushrooms!]
One commented: [Has anyone else noticed? All the animals seem to really like Sierra. The little Kaelenridge Sheep just keeps snuggling up to her!]
Another commented: [Am I the only one wondering if the little Kaelenridge Sheep can still find its herd? What if its mom doesn’t recognize it?]
A comment read: [Sierra mentioned before that Kaelenridge Sheep from the four no-man’s-land all gather at Lake Sylvenmir to give birth. Is there some tradition behind it? What exactly guides them there? Nature is just so amazing!]
Sierra saw the comments and picked a few to answer. She explained, “As for why Kaelenridge Sheep all head to Lake Sylvenmir to give birth, science still can’t give a definite answer.
“But some people think that this so-called ‘legacy’: the reason female Kaelenridge Sheep migrate to Lake Sylvenmir to have their babies. It goes back hundreds of thousands of years, maybe even to when Lake Sylvenmir first formed.
“Maybe their ancestors crossed mountains and rivers, or just wandered here by accident. After giving birth, they’d take their little ones and keep moving on to even farther, wider lands. Year after year, that’s how their migration route got set.”
Sierra’s words resonated, and viewers could almost picture the first Kaelenridge Sheep making the epic journey to Lake Sylvenmir millions of years ago.
Passing it down, generation after generation, that was what legacy meant.
But before anyone could really take that in, Sierra changed the subject. She said, “Right now, there are about 300,000 Kaelenridge Sheep in our country. Honestly, they’re one of our biggest conservation success stories.
“But here’s something you might not know. Back in the late 1990s, there were fewer than 70,000 left.”
One commented: [Oh my god, from less than 70,000 to 300,000 now? Wildlife rangers have really put in so much hard work!]
Another commented: [I can’t even imagine how much effort and how many lives it must have taken to bring the Kaelenridge Sheep population back to this level.]
Someone commented: [I used to think Sierra was wasting her talent as a wildlife ranger, but now I realize showbiz doesn’t deserve her at all. What she’s doing is truly meaningful. No wonder she was so determined to quit the entertainment industry.]
One commented: [I hope all the little animals in the world stay safe and sound.]

Chapter 81
A comment read: [I really hope the Kaelenridge Sheep herd makes it to Lake Sylvenmir safely!]
Sierra lowered her gaze, her long lashes trembling slightly.
Right then, everyone watching felt their hearts stir. They all wished that someday, every Kaelenridge Sheep herd would reach Lake Sylvenmir safe and sound.
Even more, they hoped that when the Kaelenridge Sheep ran across the grasslands, it would be for happiness, not because they were trying to escape slaughter.
