Sierra’s words left the livestream chat in silence.

People were always saying how much they cared about protecting animals, but for city folks, the only wild creatures they ever got to see were locked up in zoos or oceanariums.

That’s why every one of Sierra’s livestreams made people realize just how precarious the animal ecosystem really was.

One viewer commented: [Animals seem to get along just fine. It’s always humans causing the problems.]

Someone commented: [When will people finally get it? Nature isn’t just about humans; there are all kinds of other creatures out there too.]

Another commented: [This streamer is a riot, making it sound like everyone’s to blame. Most of us have never even been to Coliburg, let alone seen a Kaelenridge Sheep.

[Just because a few jerks hurt them, now we all have to take the fall? The rich never share their wealth with us, but somehow we’re supposed to carry their guilt? Seriously, why?]

This comment really struck a chord with many viewers.

One commented: [Yeah, when I was a kid, ads for shark fin soup were all over the place, but I’ve never even laid eyes on it in real life.]

Another commented: [They’re always telling us to save water, blaming global warming on all the air conditioning, and telling us to cut down on trash to save the polar bears.

[But we can’t even afford a house, can’t even turn on the AC, let alone dump trash in the ocean!]

Someone commented: [I totally agree. Those PSA commercials from when we were kids were honestly kind of a joke. They should’ve been shown to the rich folks, not us.]

Sierra watched the comments fly by, her lashes fluttering as she pressed her lips together. She said, “I get where you’re all coming from, but those public service ads and my livestreams aren’t about blaming anyone or dumping guilt on you.

“The real point is to help everyone build a lasting sense of responsibility. When most people truly get it, they’ll start calling out anyone who trashes the environment or hurts animals.”

She never pointed fingers at regular folks in her streams.

It was not the regular folks’ fault, but looking after the environment was something everyone had to keep doing, generation after generation.

The Earth was never people’s to claim. If anything, people belonged to it. Humans were not the only ones here, and they couldn’t make it on their own.

Raising awareness and protecting animals were urgent.

The little Kaelenridge Sheep in Sierra’s arms seemed to pick up on Sierra’s feelings. It lifted its fluffy little head and started bleating.

It said, “Sierra, don’t feel too bad. We know there are lots of good humans out there. We never held it against people.”

They all knew many humans were trying to help them.

Even in a flock of Kaelenridge Sheep, not every sheep was a good one.

The lamb said, “My brother is such a greedy sheep. He finishes all the grass in his own patch and then tries to snatch mine!

The little lamb shook its head, its tone suddenly lively. It continued. “But a lot of the other Kaelenridge Sheep treat me really well. Whenever they see I haven’t had enough to eat, they’ll share their food with me?

To the little Kaelenridge Sheep, humans and animals really weren’t all that different from each other.

The only thing that set humans apart was how insanely powerful they were. Their brains were so sharp they could throw up skyscrapers, airplanes, and all kinds of crazy machines, stuff a Kaelenridge sheep could not dream up in its wildest nightmares.

It was totally jealous that humans all got to have such genius-level brains.

The little Kaelenridge Sheep’s words made Sierra feel her spirits lift.

She gave the little lamb a playful pat on the head, both amused and helpless. She said, “You sure do talk a lot.”

The little Kaelenridge Sheep figured Sierra was complimenting it, so it happily wiggled its head from side to side.

Just then, Timothy spotted something and quickly rolled down the window, leaning halfway out and pointing at the natural rock wall. He shouted, “Guys, check it out. Is that a whole herd of Kaelenridge Sheep?”

Sierra froze for a second, then quickly turned to look.

A quarter mile away, the whole cliff was crawling with Kaelenridge Sheep.

The little Kaelenridge Sheep scampered out of Sierra’s arms and stuck its fuzzy head out the window. Its big, round eyes grew even wider with excitement, and it started hopping up and down on Timothy’s lap.

It called out, “That’s my herd! I can see my

mom!”

With that, the little lamb started bouncing even harder on Timothy’s lap, bleating at the herd on the cliff in the distance. It shouted, “Mom, look over here! Mom!”

Timothy was speechless.

He grumbled inwardly, ‘Shit.

‘Is this little rascal trying to get back at me? Why does he keep stomping right where it hurts?’

Before Timothy could even give the little lamb a talking-to, Sierra suddenly spoke up, “Wait a second. Her eyes narrowed as she stared at the distant cliff. Something felt seriously off.

There were thousands of Kaelenridge Sheep crowded all over the cliff, but they seemed to be fleeing from something. moving so fast that some of them lost their footing and went tumbling right off the edge.

“Let’s get closer and see what’s going on,” Sierra said.

With human eyesight, and the Kaelenridge Sheep’s fur blending right into the rocky terrain, Sierra could barely make out what was happening.

They covered the couple of hundred yards in no time. The car pulled up on a gravel road less than fifty yards away.

That was when everyone finally saw why the Kaelenridge Sheep were running for their lives.

A pack of scruffy gray-white wolves, their eyes hard as flint, was attacking the Kaelenridge Sheep.

But the weird thing was, even with so many Kaclenridge Sheep right in front of it, the wolves seemed oddly indifferent. When one wolf knocked one sheep down, it didn’t go for the kill. Instead, it held the Kaelenridge Sheep down and gave it a

thorough snitt.

Then it just let the long-horned male go, shooting it a look of total disgust.

The little Kaelenridge Sheep in Sierra’s arms was totally petrified, frozen in fear.

The livestream chat was blowing up, everyone spamming messages for Sierra to hurry and rescue the Kaelenridge Sheep.

Sierra saw the barrage of comments, but she just stayed put.

Human rules didn’t really work in the animal world.

In the wild, it was all about survival of the fittest. Sheep had always been prey for wolves. That was the law of nature, so most of the time, Sierra couldn’t interfere.

But the wolves’ behavior was just plain weird.

A dozen wolves couldn’t care less about the male Kaelenridge Sheep. Their eyes were locked on the females.

The moment one wolf got hold of a female, the whole pack just froze and stopped attacking.

The Kaelenridge Sheep herd made a break for it, leaving the wolves far behind.

The little Kaelenridge Sheep in Sierra’s arms suddenly let out a gut-wrenching wail. It squirmed free and dashed straight toward the wolves, sobbing desperately as it ran. The little lamb cried out, “Let go of my mom!”

Sierra was left holding nothing but air, momentarily frozen in shock.

The little Kaelenridge Sheep bolted ahead, leaving the rest of them in the dust. No way anyone could catch up.

All they could do was stare as the little lamb hopped and skipped straight toward the wolves.

And then it crashed straight into the alpha wolf’s rock-hard abs.

The little lamb almost knocked itself silly.

The little lamb tumbled across the ground a few times, and when it finally staggered to its feet, it realized there were several looming shadows all around.

It looked up to see four wolves slowly circling in, their eyes chilling to the bone as they fixed it with icy stares.

The lamb thought, ‘Mom, this time I’m gonna end up as wolf chow.’
