Chapter 133
Demetri POV
This was hard, but fun. Scones didn’t move around too much. I have had men on my shoulders in tussle games, so holding Scones on my shoulders was nothing; it was what she was doing that might make it more challenging. I have to admit, a few times, there, I thought I was going to lose her, with Scones. moving too quickly. We got the hang of working together fairly quickly, and we settled in for the long haul. Scones were to eat an apple. Sounds easy, but I could tell when Scones squeezed against my ears with her thighs that it wasn’t easy, and she struggled a bit, not moving like she wanted to, especially near the end, when we both wanted it done. When the last pair fell, and we knew we had won, Scones continued for pride’s sake, her need to finish the apple and only a core.
My legs felt like jelly when I at last put Scones on the ground, although I was feeling lighter without her weight on me, I was also weak. It’s the longest I have had someone on my shoulders like that in a very long time. I will add that to our training when we resume it. It’s a good strengthening game, and it was fun in a way.
But all this was worth it, seeing Scones smile with pride and boasting about how well we did, with the club members who missed it. I returned to the bike, carefully repacked the bedroll and tarp, secured everything back on the bike, and was ready to leave. I picked up some bottles of water and put them in a saddlebag, and some sandwiches, which we can eat along the way, Scones was a natural pillion, and can carry some food and water in her bag, on her shoulder, and reach forward feeding me and herself, the back rest gives me peace of mind, that she won’t fall off the back, if Scones was not payng attention as she digs out the food from her bag.
Gunner had packed up his bag too; the girls had gone for a bathroom run before we hit the road.
The way home was uneventful, one stop, to fuel up and eat, and on the road again, the whole time Cora and Scones talked about yesterday and today, how much fun it was, and how good it was to put the world behind us for a weekend; it was refreshing, they talked about Scones moving in the house, now they were headed back, Cora had tonight and tomorrow night off, before she needed to return to the hospital and do her shifts.
Scones talked about writing up a new roster, one where she would not be on as often. Scones agreed it was time for the rest of the club ladies to do their share of the housework and cooking. They live there; they should be involved in keeping it clean and in feeding the members. Scones was going to use the fact that she was no longer living there, so she needed less on the roster. It will be a big wake-up call for several spoiled ladies when they are forced to help out. Some have been living there and using others as maids, but not anymore. They will be on the roster, or they will need to move out. Scones sounded so firm on this, and I wondered what Oddball thought. He, too, had moved to Cora’s house; it was getting quite crowded there now.
It was nice listening to the girls talk, it was like they had been friends for years, not months, they already had a bond before I came into the picture, and that had made the transition from friend to step mother easier, mind you we are not married yet, I have to asked her at some point, and if she would like to change her road name, onces she’s mine, the name was given when she skeleton and her were hitched, she might like a new name with her new man, it’s not unheard of.
The sun was low on the horizon when we reached the clubhouse, and we saw a mess everywhere: rubbish bins tipped out all over the car park, bottles smashed. We parked to the side, away from the mess, and

“What the fuk?” Gunner’s voice came over the intercom before he turned off his bike and removed his
helmet.
Some members came out when they heard the bikes arriving; one was sporting a black eye, another a cut lip, and it appeared a fight had broken out.
“Report,” Oddball demanded as the men raced over to him.
“Last night, we had a few friends over, nothing big. Around eleven, the gate was crashed open, four vans of men arrived, they started breaking windows, turning over bins, and setting sorne alight, a scuffle broke out, and we to call for reinforcements, when help arrived, we managed to push them back out of the yard, they didn’t make it inside the club house, or any outter buildings, all the damaged occured out here, we have the footage for you to see. They did break a few clubhouse windows.”
“Why is this not cleaned up yet?”
“When you see the footage, you will see what’s left out here was only minor, compared to the mess they had caused.”
“Let’s see that footage, shall we, before you rip a new one on these guys,” I suggested. Oddball turned his head to look at me, ready to say something he might regret, but bit his lips and nodded.
Gunner and I followed the men into the clubhouse.
The first thing I noticed when we entered the clubhouse was the smell, which had my mouth watering and my stomach growling. The ladies had been cooking dinner, and life went on as usual, but there was tension in the air. Behind the bar, the barman tracked out movements, wary, careful, no smiles on anyone’s faces. They are waiting for Oddball to lose it, but I will keep him focused on the problem, not on venting his anger. As a leader, he should always look in control. I am sure he knows this, but being tired from a long ride and arriving to find his club a mess would make him less in control, when now was the time to be in total control.
The three of us headed to Hacker’s office, and Hacker was quick to start up his computer and search for the footage, starting from when the men’s vehicles arrived, the fight, that the men held their own until help arrived, then the mess, and those who were hurt.
“No broken bones or serious injuries on our side. Looks like a few were carried away, out cold, or unstable on their feet. Running the plates now, give me a few minutes, can you get Cora in here, she’s good on the computer, will cut my work in half.” Oddball looked at Gunner, who nodded and left the room, to find Cora, I had no idea she was such a valued person in this field, I knew she had some skill, had seen it, when she was flying the drones, and other work, but this was more complex, than simple tracking, I might see if she was interested in changing her work, she would do well in my security firm, that one day will be her’s anyway.
Cora arrived, and Hacker pointed to a computer, said something I didn’t catch, and Cora moved to the computer, and soon her fingers were flying over the keyboard with skill.
I turned back to Hacker and Oddball as they watched the footage again.
“We know four of these men, known troublemakers in town, don’t care whose party they crash, as long as they are paid to disrupt it. We also know where they live, but catching them is not the problem; getting

information was. They are not the busses; they are the ones who do the hassling. We need to find the person who accepted the job and have them come here. It was known that the main body would be out on a run.”
“Bring them in, we can question them, our way.” I offered that we had some skills in getting information out of hard cases.
“Will do, we have a lot to do this week, with the shooters run on Wednesday, not much time to question
the.”
“No need to worry, a few days in the cells might loosen their tongues, rough them up a bit, then leave them till we have finished this week’s issue, then we will come back and see how co-operative they might have become. I worry that they may not know who the boss is, which is often the case when many are involved. The fewer who know, the safer for the head.” Oddball and Gunner both nodded in agreement; it was often
the case.
