Biker's Claim The Broken Angel is Mine (Cora and Jake) novel Chapter 149

Chapter 145

Chapter 149

Cora POV

I giggled all the way to the spa retreat, as Ruby complained about the bodyguards. Dad had pushed them on me too, and I did exactly as Ruby did and lost. I couldn’t see Ruby winning if I couldn’t.

“Look at it this way, we have something else in common now.” I giggled again at Ruby’s face, she looked like she was constipated or something, not at all liking being followed around. She’s been stuck in the kitchen too long; it’s good to let her out of that prison. Time to get her out and with other people, learn to be free and fly again.

At the spa, the manager permitted the men to do the safety checks in the rooms. To the staff’s amazement, they had no idea who was coming in, that required bodyguard checks, and the whispers of who it could be filtered out to us, and the lady at reception was on the phone to her friend, telling whoever it was that someone famous must be there, as there are bodyguards.

One of the guards grunted and called someone on the phone, but didn’t leave our side.

“Ladies, come this way, please.” We followed her to the massage room, where we stripped to my panties and lay on the table, where a man came and gave me a deep tissue massage-ouch. Ruby was a strong woman, and by the look of it, she was having a deep tissue one too, judging by the sounds she was making.

Next was the spa room, where we stripped and climbed into the hot tub.

“This is so nice.” It was relaxing in the spa; the ladies left us to soak for ten minutes. I felt some muscles! didn’t know existed aching. I grunted in response to Ruby not having the strength left to move.

Just as I was starting to drift off, the lady was back/

“Time to climb out and have a shower, then we shall start on your nails and hair.” Reluctantly, I climbed out of the spa, embarrassed that I had needed help; my legs felt like jelly, yet my body felt heavy

My hair was first.

“What would you like done with your hair?” The hairdresser asked, lifting my damp hair and letting it fall then running her fingers through my hair.

“I would like some highlights, and a trim, maybe some waves.” For the next hour, my hair was washed, some foils put in, and under the dryer, then an hour out with the scissors, where they trimmed about three inches off the length, and styled it. have to admit I like what they did with my hair. Then one lady sat at my feet, and one on my hands, and did my nails and pedicure; lastly, a woman did makeup. I was not fond of makeup, but the lady did a nice job, not overdoing the makeup. I was worried the woman would make me look like a clown, but she actually used a soft tone that made my eyes pop, it was better than expected, something I might try myself. It complemented my hair highlights, it was beautiful

to try something new.

Ruby looked at me, and her eyes widened, and I think I had done the same.

“You look stunning, whispered, feeling that saying it out loud would break the moment we both were in

“You too. Stunny.” We hugged each other, trying hard not to cry and spoil the makeup.

“Thank you, ladies and guys, for our great day.” I didn’t need to pay, as Demetri and Gunner had already paid for our day.

“Do you want to go cloth shopping?” I asked as we headed towards the vehicle. The staff had come out to watch us leave; they were still in awe of someone with a dozen bodyguards and still hadn’t guessed who

we were.

“Okay, I need some more dresses and new jeans, since Demetri has said he will be taking me out on the town more often, and has friends that he wants me to meet when we go to his home, and meet the club members, I would like to find some nice leather pants, I have always wanted to buy some of those, but Skeleton didn’t like it, you don’t think I am too old now do you?”

“What? No. Never too old for leather.” We laughed, and the bodyguards groaned at us; it appears clothes shopping, or shopping in general, was not high on their to-do list.

The shopping was fun with Ruby, nothing like when I went with my Ex-BFF. Ruby was laughing along with me when we picked out some really bad dresses neither of us would ever wear, and then found some stunning dresses, new jeans, and yes, we found a little shop that had leather clothing and accessories that we both fell in love with. One of the guards offered to take our purchases to the vehicle. I heard one guard say to another that he wished he had thought to volunteer to take the bags and get them out of the shops for a little while. I felt bad for them.

ey, want a late lunch?” I asked Ruby, and soon we were headed for the food hall, which was a little too owded for my three guards to relax. I had them buy lunch too, my treat, and soon we were seated eating. e guards taking the tables around us, so there was a table apart from any of the public, sitting and

sting.

We had just finished eating and were discussing what to do next: go home or shop some more, for maybe some makeup like they had put on our faces, when a woman said rather loudly

“Hey, isn’t that Cora, the billionaire’s daughter?” My backles rose as I tried hard not to tam around or react to the comments that stemmed from that comment, the guards were on high alert, watching the crowd Standing up and putting their rubbish away trying to look natural, while scoping out the gathering crowd, that we were discussing me; none would know about Ruby yet, but once they do, she will be the topic of conversation, and an interest to the crowd.

“Will this be what I will have to worry about when the world finds out I am with Demetri? Ruby asked as we stood up and gathered our rubbish.

“This is low and calm at the moment, but you have seen on television how some rock stars are swamped with people wanting to reach out to you, that is what you and I will have when and if we go to the city. where Dad lives. It will take some getting used to, especially for you, who has rarely left the clubhouse in years.” We chucked out food, and the guards surrounded us, but gave us room to move, watching the crowd, who at this stage were more interested in watching what was happening than who we were. The good part with being in a small town, although this town’s not that small, is it’s still fairly mild compared to

where I used to live.

As we reached the exit to the mall, a sizeable crowd had formed outside, the guards formed a closer around us, and we were more or less herded towards where the vehicle was parked. The crowd was calling out my name, wanting to see my face, but i was no interested in entertaining the crowd, nothing good ever became of things like that.

“They won’t hurt us, will they?” Ruby was starting to get scared.

“Each crowd is different; some are friendly, some want to touch you, and can accidentally rip your shirt or dress as they grab hold, for a souvenir, some throw rotten food, bottles, all sorts at you, so far, I haven’t had that happen, but they can name call.”

“But why?”

“You are connected to someone with a lot of money; they want a piece of it- greed, jealousy, you name it. The tag will be on one of them. Some want you dead, and they take your place. Delusional, but that’s how they think.”

We made it to the vehicle and were promptly pushed inside; guess going out to the mall won’t be happening too often, back to purchasing things online, which is a bummer. Consider getting a personal shopper to bring what you want to look at in a few sizes and try them on.

The guards were not in a mood to discuss going anywhere else; the mobs were alert to us being out and about, and going anywhere else was too high a risk.

Our girls’ day out just came to a screeching halt.
