Chapter 150
Chapter 150
Demetri POV
The woman left, and it felt like something inside of me was urging me to follow them, to ensure they safe.
This was a test for me: to let go and not smother them with my overprotective self. I have never felt th way before in my life; I was too young when I left Dianne, too stupid to fight for what I wanted, and believed staying away was protecting them.
But since Cora reached out to me and we have been reconnecting, my life, goals, and challenges have changed. My absence was no longer my way of protecting her, and with Ruby in my life, my need to protect both of them had grown, to dangerous levels, I need to review how I handle my growing obsessio with needing to see them both safe all the time, or I won’t get any Beace of mind when they are doing wh ladies do, and should be able to do, freely, uninhibited.
More of my men will arrive today, because the ones that Cora and Ruby have gotten used to being around have a job to do and need to ride out tonight, to camp out, ready for the shooter suspects to arrive. Tonight will be for my men to meet and greet those they will be assigned to protect; hopefully they will get accustomed to each other quickly, as they will be around them a lot, both seen and unseen. Another twenty men are coming, so there will be enough guards to cover both ladies if they go to different places If Ruby goes to the clubhouse, then fewer men will follow. I feel confident that Ruby would be fine at the clubhouse, the only home she has known in a very long time. They won’t hurt her there, and she can stick up for herself against the women and the men, as far as I could see, respect her, and love her cooking.
Personally, I am happy if Ruby never returns to the clubhouse; they have used her long enough, and she needs a life. I will have to talk to her and find out what she might like to do. Perhaps her own little coffee shop, where she can bake, because I know she often sang to herself when in the kitchen; I think it was her happy place when the stress didn’t walk in and spoil it.
With payments released and several emails answered, I was feeling less stressed over the girls’ spa day but some days, it feels like you clear two emails and ten take their place.
My sss inbox was never empty.
My mobile rang; I picked it up, and a rush of slight trembling fear ran through me. My szurity man was calling, I tried not to think the worst.
“Demetri.” I tried to keep my voice calm.
“Cora has been identified.”
“Where are you?”
“Food hall, in the mall, on Main Street.
“Bring the team in closer and assess. If the crowd forms assess and if they appear dangerouk, bring the girls home.” I have to trust the men to keep there safe. This was a test for me opuch as it was for my men; part of me wanted to go to them, and if it were nothing, then they would feel I didn’t trust them a double-edged sword, and I am doorned wither way

C chapter 150
“Understood.” I hope he did, I thought as the phone went dead. I placed my phone down and looked a as if it had answers, so tempting to call Cora or Ruby and ask how their day was going, innocent as the might sound. If they are in a sticky situation, the last thing they need is me to call them, acting like I ha no clue; they could be in danger.
I am sure they saw the guard use the phone.
Ten minutes later, the phone rang again. If they aren’t on their way home, I might have to find them.
Put my mind at ease.
“The crowd has formed, too many to be safe. We are at the bike shop; might be back in fifteen.” Then he hung up, just like that, leaving me no way to ask questions. He did exactly as I had instructed over the years: report, giving pertinent information and hang up- no messing about-yet, in this case, I wanted to know more. I needed more information.
I continued to answer emails, which was difficult, as my eyes kept drifting to the time, and I needed to know they were back, safe.
My phone rang again; I snatched it up.
“Demetri.” I snapped at the phone.
“Easy there, buddy, just me, have more on the gun.” I listened to the man as he explained what he had found out, not knowing how one particular name blew me away, and I slowly got angrier the longer he spoke.
“Sent that to me, encrypted. I need to show this to Oddball personally.”
“Already sent it to your personal sss; if I send it to the other one, it would be lost for days in a sea of emails.” He chuckled and hung up. My men love to joke around, and most times it’s okay, but this time it’s personal, and I don’t feel like laughing, as I normally would. He hung up, his laughter still ringing in my ear
I opened the sss and read the first report; I was about to open the second one when my door opened-no knock; only one person would do that. Ruby. I did say that all doors were open to her if they belonged to me, and explained that she had to knock when entering Gunner or Cora’s office or rooms; this was their home that we shared, and it was courtesy. Ruby understood, there were always doors that even/knocked
“Deme, what do you think?” I looked up from the computer, and my mouth dropped open
“Wow.” Was about all I could say.
“They did a good job for us girls, well worth the trip, don’t you think?”
“I think. Wow, you were stunning before, now you are a goddess. Hiding all your beauty behind flour and aprons,” How did I ger so lucky to have a smart, talented beautiful woman to call me?
“It feels like Cora and I brought the shop out I have never owned so many other before after the make up lady was done, we both liked what she did, so we purchased a tie makeup for special occasions only Ruby sounded so excited, it must have been hard to have the day end walshity “Did you both have a good time?” I asked softly rubbing my hands up and down he an face, which was captivating and even sparkled in the light

<Chapter 150-
“We both agree a regular spa day needs to be organised, and neither of us liked shopping, too many people and the feeling of being rushed- so next time, we want to shop. Cora suggested a personal shopper.”
“What does that entail? I knew how I use a personal shopper, and wondered if the girls do the same.
“Together, we will look at clothes and shoes online, and get the personal shopper to bring a few sizes and colours for us to try on. We have to find & personal shopper first, but that can’t be that hard, can it?” Ruby had no clue, but it was fun seeing her so excited; it made all that worry from earlier vanish, I will get a report later, but for now, I am going to enjoy my girls’ happiness.
Cora came in on Gunner’s arm, and I was floored by how changed she looked, not just the makeup, but the hairstyle and streaks in her hair; they changed her, and sad to say, I could see more of me in her like this, but I doubt she would want me to say that.
“What’s planned for tonight? Are we going out again?” I asked the girls.
“No, we have had enough excitement for one day. Besides, I asked Sonya to cook a lamb roast for tonight I haven’t had one of those in ages and felt like a change.” Cora answers with a smile.
“Sounds good. Soon I have more men coming; the guys you know are leaving for the surveillance tonight These men will take over guard duty. We can use tonight as a get-to-know-you night, a relaxing chance to meet them, rather than a formal meet-and-greet.” This will work out perfectly.
“Sounds like a plan. In the meantime, how about you contact your guards and let them fill you in on our spa day? I am sure you are eager to know how your team performed.” Cora giggled, as if she knew something I didn’t.
