Raelynn's gaze lingered on that bright shade of lipstick. Even though it wasn't a perfect lip print and just an accidental smudge, she could easily picture exactly how it got there.
Seraphina had been the one to treat Sebastian's burn. This little injury had likely turned into some intimate, romantic moment between the happy couple. Maybe Seraphina had felt bad for him and accidentally rubbed her lipstick on the bandage while kissing it better?
Whatever the scenario, it confirmed one undeniable fact: their relationship had progressed to a very deep, intimate level. And Sebastian was probably so accustomed to Seraphina's physical touch that he didn't even notice the lipstick on his hand, boldly parading it right in front of his legal wife to catch red-handed.
"Are you coming?" Sebastian asked, pausing in the hallway to look back at her, a hint of inquiry in his eyes.
Raelynn snapped out of her thoughts and calmly walked out. She certainly wasn't going to question him. Whether they were getting divorced or not, she had no right to demand answers. Sebastian had never given her the authority of a real wife to check up on him or enforce boundaries with other women.
As they reached the elevator bank, Raelynn reached out to press the call button.
Sebastian suddenly glanced down at her, grabbed her wrist, and pulled her toward a different set of doors.
"Where are you going?" Raelynn tried to pull her hand back, but his grip was firm.
Sebastian didn't even turn his head. "We're taking the private elevator."
Raelynn looked up. The doors in front of them belonged to the VIP elevator that only accessed the executive floors. It was vastly different from the public ones.
"It's too crowded over there. It's quieter here," Sebastian said, his tone utterly indifferent as he released her wrist the moment they stepped inside.
Raelynn almost laughed out loud. What a perfectly reasonable excuse. The truth was, he just wanted to avoid the crowds to eliminate the risk of running into the NexusMind or Kingsford University teams. He couldn't risk anyone finding out they were actually married and sharing a suite.
"Understood."
Raelynn didn't bother exposing him. After all, to the public eye, he was now Seraphina's devoted boyfriend. He was high-profile, practically official, giving Seraphina all the security in the world. Naturally, he had to draw a strict line with every other woman—including his not-yet-divorced wife.
Sebastian gave her a slow, measured look. But Raelynn's face remained completely unreadable, devoid of any emotional undertone.
