Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 116

"Makes sense. You're close with Chloe," Sebastian remarked casually, not giving it much thought.

Chloe might be somewhat marginalized within the powerful Hudson Clan, but since Raelynn had that connection, it wasn't too shocking she had Ian's contact info. Besides, given the holiday, the message was probably just a generic mass text anyway.

"Yeah, exactly. How else would I know someone like Ian?" Raelynn replied. Seeing how little Sebastian cared, she gave a barely perceptible smirk and typed a quick reply.

[Happy New Year.]

Ian replied instantly.

[I'm returning to the country next month.]

Raelynn didn't overthink why Ian was updating her on his itinerary.

[Okay, see you then.]

She certainly wasn't going to tell Sebastian that Ian Hudson was Lily's legal father, or that he was essentially her savior. If Ian hadn't put Lily on his family registry back then, Raelynn would never have been able to hide her pregnancy or safely raise her daughter.

But a secret like that couldn't be kept forever. Once her divorce with Sebastian was finalized, he would inevitably find out. By then, however, it would be too late. He wouldn't be able to snatch her daughter away.

"Alright, I'm taking a shower," Sebastian stated, completely losing interest in her conversation. Without a second glance, he turned and headed for the bathroom.

Raelynn suddenly remembered how he had mistakenly pulled her into his arms that very morning. Was he planning to sleep here again tonight?

"Are you staying here?" she blurted out.

Unbuttoning his shirt, Sebastian paused at the bathroom door and threw her a cool look. "Where else do you suggest I sleep? Enlighten me."

"With your mistress," Raelynn immediately thought, though she kept her face perfectly neutral.

Sebastian ignored her, shutting the door. Seconds later, she heard the shower running.

A team of over thirty people departed for the medicinal herb base. They toured the cultivation zones for rare botanicals and the processing facilities, holding a brief meeting halfway through. After negotiating prices, they finally locked down a deal in the late afternoon.

Raelynn was thrilled with the premium quality of the herbs. As soon as they got samples, she dragged Preston back to their suite to start optimizing the formula ratios, skipping the team's group dinner entirely.

While they were working, a knock sounded at the door.

It was a hotel staff member pushing a cart with two neatly sliced portions of cake.

"I'm sorry, we didn't order room service," Raelynn said, looking confused.

The staff member smiled politely. "You're Ms. Ortiz, correct? Ms. Vance was craving mango cake, but all the local bakeries are closed for the holiday. Mr. Croix specially hired a private pastry chef to prepare this, and he requested we send a portion to you and Mr. Moreno as a courtesy."

Raelynn's polite smile instantly froze. She had purposely skipped the dinner to avoid them, yet they still found a way to shove their romance in her face?
