Raelynn no longer cared what any of them thought.
She didn't even bother to check Sebastian's reaction before she turned and walked away, her face a blank slate.
She had done exactly what she came to do.
The tired excuse that "he's just a child" was garbage.
She wasn't falling for it.
Lily was the same age as Shane, yet she was incredibly sweet and well-behaved. Did this brat really not know what he was doing?
Was he truly ignorant of what this meant.
Or had someone put him up to it just to flex their power?

Sebastian watched her leave, his expression unreadable, before his gaze slowly dropped to the roaring flames in the drum.
"Shane, apologize to Uncle Croix."
Seraphina glanced in the direction Raelynn had disappeared, a flicker of mockery passing through her eyes.
What a massive temper for a total loser.
Throwing such an extreme, fiery tantrum—wasn't it all just a pathetic attempt to get Sebastian's attention?
As a woman, she saw right through those petty tricks.
Shane immediately ran over and hugged Sebastian's leg. "I'm sorry. I won't do it again. I just didn't want my sister to get bullied by that nasty woman..."
Seraphina sighed softly. "Shane, don't say that."
Sebastian pulled his gaze away from the fire and looked down at the boy. "Go wash your hands."
Shane was covered in dirt from playing all afternoon.
Hearing the concern in his voice, Shane's mood skyrocketed.
He knew it! He and his sister were the only ones who mattered!
Seraphina could clearly see that Sebastian wasn't going to get angry or push the issue.
Didn't that just prove how utterly insignificant Raelynn was?
The smile on her lips grew infinitely more satisfied. "Sebastian, you spoil him even more than I do."
No one brought up Raelynn again.
It was as if she had never even been there.
Everyone knew how obsessively she treasured every single thing connected to Sebastian.
Sebastian dragged his gaze from the ash-filled drum and turned to a nearby maid. "Have someone clean this up."
A moment later.
He pulled out his cigarette case and tapped one free. "Is she?"
His tone was so breathtakingly indifferent that Julian couldn't help but wonder if hearing it would shatter Raelynn completely.
But Julian quickly shook his head.
Brushing off the bizarre twinge of unease in his chest. "Yeah, I'm overthinking it. Leo told me about that predatory divorce agreement she handed you. She's a lot more obsessed with keeping you than we thought."
She was screaming for a divorce, but the actual paperwork was a trap designed to keep them entangled.
She was banking on Sebastian refusing to sign it.
Raelynn loved the man to death, which meant she was destined to endure all of this.
Her fierce, decisive act just now had almost tricked Julian into believing she actually wanted out of the marriage.
Clearly, it was an illusion.
Sebastian barely blinked.
He had already thrown that divorce agreement in the trash.

I think for as slow as the beginning was, their turning point is just so fast... really hope we actually get to read about R and S and their rekindle.... we did not read 950 pages for their story to be sidelined. Im for this sideline story, but it if it's to separate from the main characters and their story, please make it separate book....
Author please update more chapters...
I really like Zella, she is becoming a good friend to Raelynn. Ian needs to go. The relationship with Chloe is confusing. Some chapters they are cousins, sometimes they're sibling. A little confusing....
Julians role as big brother- I feel comes from a genuine place, but in a relationship thats is just as stained as Raelynns and Sebastians. It hard for me to connect to his big brother role as he too was such a problem before. And while they talked a little bit, the conversation did not give me the believe there was resolution between Raelynn and Julian. For a brute, he should make his feelings clear about the situation to Raelynn and then step back, until there is more foundation for him to stand on....
Knife in my heart. I hurt for Raelynn. She has made it this far, but how much does she have in her, everyone has a breaking point. Some back of me hopes the author is joking to lighten the mood after so many intense chapters, but thats not this kind of story or couple....
My heart cannot take this. This, cannot be how it ends with these too. They need resolution with each other. Raelynn needs to be more humanize with Sebastian. We know she is hurt, but this is the branch. She needs all these answers, if not for them to be together, then for Lily to have both her parents. Stop with the mind games Raelynn!...
Its like the story is just repeating itself...
Timeline is getting lost for me. So many treasured little memories Raelynn has but yet, he was gone for years ? Anyways... still rooting for them! These two need a heart to heart. Lily "forgetting" someone, not possible in this day and age and I hope thats not their storyline....
Sebastian, the man of few words.... needs to find all the words! Needs to fight for her! On note, seven years seems like a long time for this master plan (which I am sure goes back much farther). Rereading this novel, and it seems like everything has played out in a 5-8 month time span. And I feel like all Sebastian's doings/ plan have not been revealed. I hope we get to see the whole picture and have the resolutions we hope. But seven years of mistreatment, I just don't see Raelynn fully coming back. If these was 2-3 years, maybe, and I know it changes some characters around, but it would still work. Rooting for them!...
