Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 139

"Sebastian, we should get going."

A voice from behind cut Raelynn off, choking the words 'divorce papers' right back down her throat.

Raelynn turned to see Seraphina glaring at her with outright hostility.

She looked at Raelynn as if *she* were some home-wrecking tramp trying to steal her man.

Sebastian simply offered a low, "Mm."

He cast a sidelong glance at Raelynn before stepping right past her, his long strides carrying him toward Seraphina.

Seraphina's lips curled into a victorious smirk.

She boldly linked her arm through Sebastian's, and the two walked off together.

A cold draft swept through the corridor window, giving Raelynn goosebumps.

Right.

She was being naive.

Did she really think Sebastian would suddenly care about discretion just because they were getting divorced? Did she actually expect him to hold back from showing off his affection for Seraphina?

When Raelynn returned, Chloe was waiting for her by the door.

"Well? Did you talk sense into him?"

Raelynn shook her head. "He didn't agree."

"No wonder! I just saw Seraphina practically glued to his arm, introducing him to all the senior doctors. She was strutting around like she owns the place!" Chloe cursed.

Raelynn didn't have the energy to care anymore. Her mind was racing.

Keeping Lily's father a secret forever was impossible. The girl was smart; she would eventually connect the dots. If Lily ever saw footage of Sebastian and Seraphina together, how was Raelynn supposed to explain it without shattering her innocent view of the world?

Since Sebastian was dead set on appearing on camera, Raelynn certainly wasn't going to stick around to watch them playing the devoted lovers.

Raelynn ignored them and tried to walk past.

Blanche suddenly spoke up. "Oh, you're still here. I heard from Sera that you actually begged Sebastian not to appear on camera with her?"

Raelynn stopped and looked over.

Blanche smiled sweetly. "I was actually worried that having Sebastian and Sera on screen together while you were sidelined might be a bit too cruel. Watching them be so in love must hurt. But, as it turns out, your father had an urgent business matter and needed Sebastian's advice. Sebastian prioritized your family's needs and left to help your dad. That must make you feel a bit better, right?"

Blanche feigned a sudden realization and quickly added, "Oh, feel free to ignore what I just said. Just tell yourself he left because you begged him to. Whatever helps you sleep at night."

Raelynn didn't need the reminder.

If Sebastian actually cared about her feelings, they wouldn't be standing on the edge of a divorce right now.

Blanche continued in a tone dripping with fake sympathy.

"We're all women here, Raelynn. Surely you don't have the heart to stand in the way of true love? Sebastian is too polite to say it to your face, but if you gracefully step aside for your sister, he'll definitely remember your kindness."
