Raelynn never expected to hear the absurd title 'brother-in-law' thrown around so casually.
With just a few words, Blanche and Silas had completely manipulated a stranger into misunderstanding their family dynamic, resulting in... Raelynn being labeled as Sebastian's sister-in-law, right to their faces.
Seraphina was momentarily surprised.
Then, a spark of amusement flashed in her eyes, and the corners of her lips curled up into a distinct smile.
Only then did she deign to glance at Raelynn. "Sorry about that. We'll handle our family matters."
She accepted the titles of 'older sister' and 'brother-in-law' with complete ease.
She didn't find it inappropriate at all.
Sebastian's expression remained entirely unreadable, showing absolutely no intention of correcting the nurse.
Raelynn knew he hated dealing with unnecessary trouble. To him, correcting a stranger's misunderstanding was just a waste of breath.
Furthermore, he was more than happy to give Seraphina that kind of status in public.
Why would he deny it?
The Head Nurse waved them off and went back to work.
Silas was practically beaming with joy. During all the years Sebastian had been married to Raelynn, he had never provided a shred of support to the Vance family. Raelynn couldn't hold her husband's interest, and since Sebastian couldn't care less about his wife, why would he care about her family?
But look at this.
For Seraphina's sake, he was willing to throw around unimaginable amounts of money.
How could Silas not be thrilled?
But since they were in a public hallway, Silas glanced at Raelynn and muttered, "Raelynn, whatever issues you have, keep them behind closed doors. Have some dignity."
He didn't want Raelynn ruining this picture-perfect family moment.
Raelynn's lips curled into a smirk, refusing to back down an inch. "Are you getting out or not?"
She absolutely refused to let them stay in the room next to her grandfather.
They were only here to torment him.
Even though her grandfather's mind was failing, he hated Silas and his new family with a burning passion.
Everyone in the Vance family was utterly shameless!
