Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 220

She never expected to see a message like that.

A hotel room? For the night?

The phone continued to vibrate in her grip.

Her palm began to go numb.

It was a glaring testament to the clinginess a woman only displayed when she knew she was entirely indulged by the man she loved.

"Give me my phone."

A shadow fell over her, accompanied by the heavy, musky scent of cold cedar.

She looked up.

She met Sebastian's deep, unfathomable gaze.

He stared at her devoid of any readable emotion, holding out his large, elegant hand toward her. It was a simple gesture, yet it radiated an undeniable, dominating authority.

Even though his tone was flat, Raelynn got the feeling he had completely misinterpreted the situation.

Without a second of hesitation, Raelynn placed the still-buzzing phone back into his hand.

She didn't care in the slightest about the dirty details of his relationship with Seraphina.

She just didn't want her grandfather to see that filth.

Even if she eventually told her grandfather about the divorce, it would be framed as a mutual separation. If he found out she had been cheated on, abandoned, and humiliated, it would only break the old man's heart.

As for whether Sebastian thought she was intentionally snooping through his private messages...

It didn't matter.

She genuinely didn't care.

Sebastian didn't stay much longer.

After drinking two rounds of tea with Arthur, he took his leave.

Raelynn also had work to get back to.

When she stepped out of the suite, she noticed the hospital room next door was still completely empty.

She knew Sebastian would handle the situation flawlessly.

The Vance family would finally back off.

Following the scandal with the Kingsford University graduate student, the university issued disciplinary actions, but the R&D project wasn't delayed.

The drug's final review was fast approaching.

It was going to be her first glorious victory.

Her workload became heavier and more complex.

Truth be told, she had been absent for the vast majority of Lily's life. Only because of this divorce would Lily finally be able to move to Kingsford and live with her. It was a rare opportunity.

She couldn't keep disappointing the little girl just to be overly cautious.

Raelynn quickly got ready.

She submitted a time-off request at work.

When the time came, she drove straight to The Elite Kindergarten.

It was a massive, prestigious school; the children of Kingsford's wealthiest and most powerful families all attended here.

By the time she arrived, many parents had already gathered.

"Mom!"

Lily spotted Raelynn instantly. Her face lit up with a brilliant smile as she ran toward her as fast as her little legs could carry her.

Raelynn quickly crouched down and caught the little girl in her arms.

"I thought Professor Finch was going to come today," Lily said, her cheeks flushed pink. She was absolutely thrilled that Raelynn had shown up, bouncing on her toes with excitement.

Raelynn gently pinched her nose. "Professor Finch is getting older. We shouldn't make him run around so much."

"Okay! I love it when Mom is with me. Can Mom always come from now on?" Lily asked, her voice tinged with a careful, quiet hope. She knew her mom was incredibly busy. She knew her mom had her reasons. Professor Finch had told her that her mom was working very hard so they could live together and never have to be separated again.

She knew she shouldn't make things difficult for her mom.
