Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 26

Raelynn slowly pulled her gaze away.

She shook her head with a bitter, mocking smile.

Gripping her purse tightly, she resolutely marched toward the garage.

Matilda's condition had stabilized overnight, so Raelynn was determined to track Sebastian down and get this agreement signed.

The moment she reached the garage.

She spotted the driver opening the car door in the distance. Sebastian was walking briskly out of the main house, chatting on his phone.

A faint smile touched his lips, making his sharply handsome, sculpted face look breathtakingly attractive.

In seven years, she had almost never seen him smile like that.

She didn't even need to guess who was on the other end of the line.

So, he had spent the entire night at the estate after all.

He just... hadn't wanted to sleep in the courtyard they shared?

Clarity flashed in Raelynn's eyes.

So Sebastian was actively avoiding her? He was so repulsed he wouldn't even sleep under the same roof as her?

Was he trying to keep himself 'pure' to prove his loyalty to Seraphina?

Raelynn's intense stare must have been burning a hole in him.

Right before he got into the car, Sebastian lifted his chin and caught her eye.

But it was barely a glance before he effortlessly slid into the backseat.

The car glided smoothly out of the courtyard, disappearing into the distance.

Raelynn didn't even get the chance to speak to him, let alone find a window to make him sign the crucial document.

She looked up at the sky, took a deep breath, and practically threw herself into her own car, completely uncaring if he was dodging her or not.

She had to find a way to make him sign that paper. She couldn't afford to waste another second.

She didn't have time to sit around feeling sorry for herself.

It took forever to get to Croix Holdings.

The morning rush hour traffic was brutal.

Stepping into the massive lobby, Raelynn walked up to the front desk and asked politely, "Could you please call the CEO's office for me? Tell them it's..."

Raelynn hesitated for a second on how to introduce herself.

But to get to Sebastian as fast as possible, she bit the bullet: "Mrs. Croix."

The official divorce certificate wasn't in her hands yet anyway. If using the title got the job done faster, she wasn't going to be precious about it.

The receptionist's eyes darted over her, clearly assessing her, before smiling politely. "Please wait one moment."

Rumors that Mr. Croix was married had floated around for years.

But no one had ever actually seen the real Mrs. Croix's face. Half the building thought his secret early marriage was just an urban legend.

However, there were a lot of branches in the Croix family tree, so who knew which 'Mrs. Croix' this actually was.

And now she suddenly storms the castle, claiming to be Mrs. Croix in the lobby?

She was completely out of bounds!

Quinn couldn't resist laying down the law, heavily implying she needed to stay in her lane.

He didn't want anyone gossiping about Seraphina's status the next time she came in.

Raelynn stared blankly at Quinn's aggressive posturing.

The only reason one of Sebastian's underlings would dare treat his legal wife like garbage was because he'd seen firsthand how obsessively Sebastian favored Seraphina.

"Sebastian sure knows how to train his attack dogs. Do you want a treat?" Raelynn looked him dead in the eye.

Quinn's eyes went wide with shock.

In the past, Raelynn would practically beg him for scraps of information about Sebastian, always treating him with the utmost respect.

How dare she now...

Footsteps echoed from behind him.

The door swung open.

Raelynn looked up and locked eyes with Sebastian as he walked into the room.

He didn't look particularly surprised to see her, mostly just totally indifferent. "What do you want?"

Raelynn unconsciously gripped the strap of her purse, forcing herself to stay perfectly composed so he wouldn't suspect a thing.

She pulled the agreement out of her bag. "I need you to sign something for me."
