Raelynn was genuinely speechless for a few seconds.
She honestly hadn't expected Grandma to be this serious about setting her up with a second husband.
She was already putting the plan into action?
"Grandma, I am really not looking for that right now." Raelynn rubbed her temples.
She didn't know how to handle this aggressive level of well-meaning matchmaking.
"But I already set it up for you! Just go as a friend. Meeting new people is always a good thing. We'll worry about the rest later, okay?" Matilda urged gently, ignoring her protests.
"Tonight at eight. Make sure you dress up!"
Terrified that Raelynn would reject the offer again, Matilda swiftly hung up the phone.
Raelynn was speechless.
She stared at her phone screen, feeling completely torn.
Grandma's way of 'compensating' her for Sebastian's betrayal was a little too intense.
She checked the time. It was already six-thirty.
After thinking it over, she decided she should just go. At the very least, she could clear the air and politely decline, so nobody ended up looking bad.

The place Matilda had booked for the meet-up was The Elysian Club, the most opulent and exclusive venue in Kingsford.
It was a decadent palace rivaling the neon-drenched glitz of a Vegas high-roller casino.
The digital pass was for the fifth floor.
It featured private VIP suites complete with dining spaces and exclusive entertainment views.
Raelynn checked her suite number, double-checked the plaque by the door, and gave a polite knock.
No one answered. Maybe they couldn't hear her over the ambient noise, or maybe the guy hadn't shown up yet.
Without overthinking it, Raelynn gently cracked the door open.
Her eyes swept the room, and she instantly froze in her tracks.
There were already people inside.
Standing in front of the massive floor-to-ceiling windows was Sebastian, one hand casually tucked into his pocket, his tall, broad-shouldered silhouette cutting a striking figure in the dim light.
Standing directly in front of him, up on her tiptoes, was Seraphina, intimately adjusting his tie. As they locked eyes, Seraphina slowly leaned in to kiss him...
Even knowing perfectly well that they were having a full-blown affair.
Actually watching them about to kiss in real-time still made Raelynn's brain flatline for a split second.
She completely forgot how to react.
Seven years of marriage. There had been love once, and there were certainly still deeply ingrained habits. Even as she dragged herself out of this toxic swamp, the subconscious instincts of a long-term wife flared up with a sudden, phantom pain.
Panicking slightly, she tried to quickly pull the door shut.
