To Raelynn, that voice was like a thorn. Every time she heard it, a wave of irrepressible annoyance washed over her.

Ian asked, "Is this boy your son, Mr. Croix?"

Sebastian's expression didn't change. "You misunderstand, Mr. Hudson. I don't have any children yet."

Ian looked at him, nodding slowly after a few seconds. "I assumed you had a secret marriage and a child hidden away. After all, you seem incredibly devoted to Ms. Vance and her family."

Raelynn found the underlying sarcasm rather pointed.

Sebastian, on the other hand, showed no discomfort.

Seraphina, however, revelled in the comment. After all, to anyone looking, she and Sebastian looked exactly like a newlywed couple out with their child.

"Mr. Hudson, what a coincidence. Is this little girl your daughter?" she asked with a polite smile, acting as if she hadn't even noticed Raelynn.
