To Raelynn, that voice was like a thorn. Every time she heard it, a wave of irrepressible annoyance washed over her.
She turned to look.
Not far away, two adults and a child had just stepped out of their car.
Shane Vance stood between Sebastian and Seraphina, acting as a bridge that made the three of them look incredibly tight-knit and intimate.
Sebastian was dressed slightly more casual today. His white dress shirt exuded a cold, aristocratic elegance. Beside him, Seraphina wore a matching white Chanel suit, clearly coordinated to compliment his outfit.
Their striking appearance turned heads.
Raelynn let out an involuntary scoff, her eyes brimming with mockery.
So Sebastian really was spending his entire day with Seraphina. While she was being shut out of Croix Holdings, they were out here living it up.
Ian glanced over as well.
His gaze was ice-cold.
Prompted by Shane's shout, Sebastian shifted his gaze, his dark eyes freezing for a few seconds.
Raelynn's tender interaction with the little girl, with Ian standing warmly beside them, made them look exactly like a picture-perfect family of three.
Seraphina frowned, then let out a silent, derisive sneer.
Sebastian's bottomless gaze swept over Raelynn and Ian, briefly lingering on the well-behaved Lily.
He gave a slight nod. "Mr. Hudson."
Ian asked, "Is this boy your son, Mr. Croix?"
Even Raelynn raised an eyebrow at that.
Sebastian's expression didn't change. "You misunderstand, Mr. Hudson. I don't have any children yet."
Ian looked at him, nodding slowly after a few seconds. "I assumed you had a secret marriage and a child hidden away. After all, you seem incredibly devoted to Ms. Vance and her family."
That remark...
Raelynn found the underlying sarcasm rather pointed.
Sebastian, on the other hand, showed no discomfort.
Seraphina, however, revelled in the comment. After all, to anyone looking, she and Sebastian looked exactly like a newlywed couple out with their child.
"Mr. Hudson, what a coincidence. Is this little girl your daughter?" she asked with a polite smile, acting as if she hadn't even noticed Raelynn.
Sebastian looked over as well.
Both men were VIP guests today. Even at a casual party, they needed to be properly hosted.
Several bystanders noticed the commotion.
They took in the fascinating scene.
It looked like two happy little families crossing paths.
People gathered around to say hello, eager to satisfy their curiosity. "Do Mr. Croix and Mr. Hudson both have kids now?"
Many people knew about Sebastian and Seraphina's affair.
But Ian's private life had always been air-tight.
Showing up suddenly with a child—and hearing the girl call him Daddy—was shocking.
It made everyone all the more curious about Raelynn.
After all, no one had heard a word about Ian getting married.
Seraphina immediately took the opportunity to draw the attention to herself. She quickly denied it, saying, "No, this is my little brother. We don't have kids yet."
The moment she spoke, the crowd's focus shifted away from Ian and Raelynn.

I think for as slow as the beginning was, their turning point is just so fast... really hope we actually get to read about R and S and their rekindle.... we did not read 950 pages for their story to be sidelined. Im for this sideline story, but it if it's to separate from the main characters and their story, please make it separate book....
Author please update more chapters...
I really like Zella, she is becoming a good friend to Raelynn. Ian needs to go. The relationship with Chloe is confusing. Some chapters they are cousins, sometimes they're sibling. A little confusing....
Julians role as big brother- I feel comes from a genuine place, but in a relationship thats is just as stained as Raelynns and Sebastians. It hard for me to connect to his big brother role as he too was such a problem before. And while they talked a little bit, the conversation did not give me the believe there was resolution between Raelynn and Julian. For a brute, he should make his feelings clear about the situation to Raelynn and then step back, until there is more foundation for him to stand on....
Knife in my heart. I hurt for Raelynn. She has made it this far, but how much does she have in her, everyone has a breaking point. Some back of me hopes the author is joking to lighten the mood after so many intense chapters, but thats not this kind of story or couple....
My heart cannot take this. This, cannot be how it ends with these too. They need resolution with each other. Raelynn needs to be more humanize with Sebastian. We know she is hurt, but this is the branch. She needs all these answers, if not for them to be together, then for Lily to have both her parents. Stop with the mind games Raelynn!...
Its like the story is just repeating itself...
Timeline is getting lost for me. So many treasured little memories Raelynn has but yet, he was gone for years ? Anyways... still rooting for them! These two need a heart to heart. Lily "forgetting" someone, not possible in this day and age and I hope thats not their storyline....
Sebastian, the man of few words.... needs to find all the words! Needs to fight for her! On note, seven years seems like a long time for this master plan (which I am sure goes back much farther). Rereading this novel, and it seems like everything has played out in a 5-8 month time span. And I feel like all Sebastian's doings/ plan have not been revealed. I hope we get to see the whole picture and have the resolutions we hope. But seven years of mistreatment, I just don't see Raelynn fully coming back. If these was 2-3 years, maybe, and I know it changes some characters around, but it would still work. Rooting for them!...
