Preston couldn't help but laugh. "Sounds great. I'll wait for the good news."
Raelynn's eyebrow twitched.
Was she actually going to end up as Seraphina's interviewing professor?
Seeing Raelynn looking down, lost in thought, Seraphina let out a silent scoff. Inferiority really did make people look pathetic and small.
Just then, her phone rang.
Seeing Sebastian's name on the screen, a sickly sweet smile spread across her face. In no rush to leave, she answered it right there. "Sebastian? Are you here to pick me up?"
Raelynn had absolutely zero desire to listen to her ex-husband and his mistress flirt. She stepped around Seraphina, heading toward the exit.
Seraphina's voice dripped with honey. "You didn't have to go through all that trouble. You're so busy. I'll be right down."
Raelynn had just reached the elevator banks, intending to head up a floor.
Seraphina darted in front of her. "Excuse me, my partner is here. I need to head down first. You can catch the next one."
She deliberately shoved her shoulder against Raelynn's as she slipped into the elevator and hit the button for the ground floor.
The peaceful mood Raelynn had finally cultivated was instantly destroyed.
As for the phrase 'my partner'...
Mockery seeped into Raelynn's eyes.
Had Sebastian really elevated Seraphina to that level already?
Showing up in public to pick her up, letting her proudly call him her partner—these were privileges Raelynn hadn't experienced once in seven years, yet she had a front-row seat to them during their divorce.
She massaged her stiff neck, silently taking a deep breath.
They were literally showing up at her workplace to rub their romance in her face. She couldn't escape it even if she tried!
She had originally planned to drop off the report upstairs before heading back down to the lab, but now, she had absolutely no desire to go downstairs anytime soon.

Sebastian and Seraphina arrived at an exclusive, pre-booked restaurant.
Leo stared in disbelief. "One person wrote all of this? What kind of absolute genius is this?"
"Are they even from our country? The alias is Faye. Could they be Asian-American?"
Sebastian took a slow sip of his drink. "Who knows."
"Let me look it up," Seraphina said, immediately running a search on all the proprietary formulas and legendary prescriptions in the database that should have been patented.
But...
Not a single one was registered under the name Faye.
She narrowed her eyes. "Did they just not file for patents, or is Faye not their real name?"
Sebastian glanced over, speaking in a lazy, measured tone. "They've been famous under the name Faye for years. Why use a fake name for the patents? Nobody turns down the glory and praise that comes with putting their real name on something like this."
"That's true. Maybe they're a foreign national and just never registered the patents domestically," Leo agreed.
Seraphina's eyes flashed with calculation. "So this 'Faye' is so overly confident they didn't even bother patenting such priceless trade secrets to protect their own rights?"

The readers' comments on the novel: Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding
I think for as slow as the beginning was, their turning point is just so fast... really hope we actually get to read about R and S and their rekindle.... we did not read 950 pages for their story to be sidelined. Im for this sideline story, but it if it's to separate from the main characters and their story, please make it separate book....
Author please update more chapters...
I really like Zella, she is becoming a good friend to Raelynn. Ian needs to go. The relationship with Chloe is confusing. Some chapters they are cousins, sometimes they're sibling. A little confusing....
Julians role as big brother- I feel comes from a genuine place, but in a relationship thats is just as stained as Raelynns and Sebastians. It hard for me to connect to his big brother role as he too was such a problem before. And while they talked a little bit, the conversation did not give me the believe there was resolution between Raelynn and Julian. For a brute, he should make his feelings clear about the situation to Raelynn and then step back, until there is more foundation for him to stand on....
Knife in my heart. I hurt for Raelynn. She has made it this far, but how much does she have in her, everyone has a breaking point. Some back of me hopes the author is joking to lighten the mood after so many intense chapters, but thats not this kind of story or couple....
My heart cannot take this. This, cannot be how it ends with these too. They need resolution with each other. Raelynn needs to be more humanize with Sebastian. We know she is hurt, but this is the branch. She needs all these answers, if not for them to be together, then for Lily to have both her parents. Stop with the mind games Raelynn!...
Its like the story is just repeating itself...
Timeline is getting lost for me. So many treasured little memories Raelynn has but yet, he was gone for years ? Anyways... still rooting for them! These two need a heart to heart. Lily "forgetting" someone, not possible in this day and age and I hope thats not their storyline....
Sebastian, the man of few words.... needs to find all the words! Needs to fight for her! On note, seven years seems like a long time for this master plan (which I am sure goes back much farther). Rereading this novel, and it seems like everything has played out in a 5-8 month time span. And I feel like all Sebastian's doings/ plan have not been revealed. I hope we get to see the whole picture and have the resolutions we hope. But seven years of mistreatment, I just don't see Raelynn fully coming back. If these was 2-3 years, maybe, and I know it changes some characters around, but it would still work. Rooting for them!...
Literally on edge!...
