Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 35

Through the glass, Raelynn saw Sebastian and Seraphina sitting at a table.

Sitting directly across from them was a middle-aged couple, along with the very familiar Shane.

She ran into three of those people all the time.

But that couple...

It was her biological father, Silas Vance, and the woman who had been his mistress during his marriage to Raelynn's mother, Blanche.

When Chloe walked up and saw Sebastian and Seraphina inside, she immediately spit on the ground. "Those cheating scumbags!"

After cursing them out, she noticed Raelynn looked pale. She grabbed Raelynn's arm and quickly pulled her inside to get a table.

"I know you're just about to finalize the divorce, and it's completely normal to feel sick over this. Seven years is a massive chunk of your life to waste."

Chloe wasn't the most delicate person, but she tried her best to offer comfort.

Raelynn shook her head. "That's not it."

"Then what?"

"Seraphina's stepdad is my biological father—the same man who dumped me in the countryside for ten years and never looked back." Raelynn let out a harsh, self-deprecating laugh.

What a twisted joke of fate, running into Silas Vance right now.

Chloe's face dropped.

She knew exactly what Raelynn had been through.

After Raelynn's mother had her accident and fell into a coma, Silas Vance immediately hired lawyers and forced his comatose wife's fingerprint onto the divorce papers.

Just so he could officially marry his long-time mistress, he ruthlessly shipped nine-year-old Raelynn off to a remote village to fend for herself.

All to keep his true love happy.

Because Blanche knew about Raelynn. Her condition for marrying him was simple: she refused to play stepmother to another woman's kid, and she wasn't about to let Raelynn steal a single drop of Silas's fatherly love away from Seraphina. She demanded Silas get rid of Raelynn.

For over a decade, Raelynn had suffered unimaginable hardships.

She was born a wealthy heiress, but her entire life was stolen from her.

Seraphina didn't originally have the last name Vance.

She only changed it after Blanche brought her into the family.

Silas treated his stepdaughter a million times better than he ever treated Raelynn.

Raelynn vividly remembered the day it all happened.

"So the little thief is living the high life. Talk about being bred from the exact same cloth!" Chloe clenched her fists, practically vibrating with hatred and righteous anger on Raelynn's behalf.

Thinking back on everything she had endured, Raelynn finally shook her head. "If a person can be lured away that easily, they were never worth keeping. The fault never belonged to me or my mother."

She wasn't going to let this destroy her self-worth.

Her conscience was entirely clean.

Chloe stared at her for a second before giving her a massive thumbs-up.

"Damn straight!"

Raelynn had zero expectations and zero emotional attachment to Silas Vance anymore.

The only thing that still shattered her heart was that her mother was still lying in a hospital bed, unable to wake up.

Calling Silas her father was a stretch; he was nothing but her enemy.

That afternoon, Raelynn went to the real estate agency to sign the final paperwork.

The location was flawless, the neighborhood was gorgeous, the air was crisp, and it sat right on a massive artificial lake. It checked every single box and fit her budget perfectly.

Just as she walked into the agency, the realtor, Mr. Stevens, rushed over looking frantic. "Ms. Ortiz, thank god you're here. Someone is waiting to see you."
