"Mr. Croix, shall we schedule a time to finalize the buyout contract?" Mr. Tanner asked politely, strictly adhering to his philosophy that even with a new boss, one must never offend Sebastian Croix.
He could never pull off Raelynn's brazen disrespect.
Not unless he wanted his career in the industry to end immediately.
Sebastian tore his gaze away from the empty doorway. "Yes. I'll contact her when it's time."
Leo strolled over with a scoff. "Raelynn is incredibly short-sighted. She thinks she robbed you with that price tag, but she has no idea how much this project will pull in once it launches. The future profits will eclipse that ninety million easily. She's really not cut out for this."
The only reason he had tagged along today,
was because he was personally investing in Seraphina's venture.
He desperately wanted to see her succeed, to finally be free from Raelynn's suffocating control and forge a smooth path forward.
"Her lack of vision is exactly why I'm walking away cleanly with my team and my project. It's perfectly fine," Seraphina said, forcing herself to calm down after the initial surge of anger.
Even if Raelynn had mocked her, she had still secured exactly what she came for.
The one truly taking the loss here was Raelynn.
And the woman was completely oblivious to it.
"I need to take a call," Sebastian announced, standing up and entirely ignoring their conversation.
As he walked out, he spotted two employees Mr. Tanner had sent in to remove Raelynn's chair.
The chair Seraphina had touched.
It was being hauled out to the dumpster like a piece of infected garbage.
Just because someone else had sat in it, it had been issued an absolute death sentence.
His gaze lingered on the chair for a few heavy seconds before he finally looked away.
Raelynn had a packed schedule. Now that the mess here was sorted, she needed to head straight back to NexusMind Technologies.
As she reached the elevator bank,
she ran into Seraphina, who was also preparing to leave.
Seraphina seemed to have bounced back into high spirits. She shot Raelynn a superior look and said, "I hope you get that contract drawn up quickly, Raelynn. Don't delay my upcoming promotional launches. We won't be associating ourselves with the Longstride brand moving forward."
She had originally planned to build a stable foundation at Longstride.
