Raelynn was not a Kingsford University student, nor was she attending as an honorary alumna. She arrived today under her soon-to-be-official title as an associate professor.
Although the formal paperwork had not been finalized, the university made an exception for her to attend the event.
On a monumental day like this for Kingsford, numerous industry titans were invited. Many corporate executives attended to scout the university's top-tier talent.
Preston Moreno would also be there.
That morning, Raelynn drove herself and Preston straight to the university campus.
Checking his email on the way, Preston chuckled. "If you officially take this position, will I need to book an appointment just to see you at Kingsford?"
Raelynn easily caught his teasing tone.
She played along effortlessly. "Don't worry. For you, I'll always leave the back door open."
Watching her smug little expression, Preston shook his head with a laugh.
After all, being fast-tracked to an associate professorship at her age was a rarity in the history of Kingsford University. It proved exactly how much her talent was worth.
It paved a brilliant path for her future, one so bright it was almost blinding.
The moment they arrived.
Dr. Adrian Moreno's assistant came out to greet them.
Kingsford was exceptionally lively today, bustling with crowds as the campus opened its doors to the public.
Inside the grand assembly hall, Dr. Adrian Moreno was deep in conversation with a few older gentlemen. Catching sight of Raelynn in his periphery, he waved her over.
As she approached, he made the introductions. "These gentlemen are academicians from the National Academy of Traditional Medicine. Raelynn, come meet them."
After the introductions, Raelynn was genuinely surprised.
These men were the pillars of the nation's medical field, her senior's esteemed colleagues, and he was introducing her to them without hesitation.
Under any other circumstances, simply securing a meeting with them would be nearly impossible.
She tucked away her usual relaxed demeanor, offering a respectful and formal introduction of herself.
One of the men, Jonas Albright, looked her up and down before turning to Adrian. "Is this the prized pupil you're always raving about?"
Though the men had studied in a different department than Seraphina.
As he spoke, he glanced at Sebastian Croix beside him.
Sebastian had already averted his gaze from the scene ahead.
He seemed entirely disinterested.
Seraphina felt a surge of quiet joy at his indifferent reaction. But when she looked back at the towering figures standing in front of Raelynn, her expression tightened. "Director Moreno just introduced her to all of them. Isn't he being far too generous?"
Having worked deeply in this industry, she was far from ignorant of the faces standing around Adrian.
They were legendary pioneers.
Any single one of them had a Wikipedia page thousands of words long.
How could he introduce Raelynn to them so casually?
She had never even had the chance to be in the same room as men like that.
