"Who knows, maybe Sebastian would treat you much better as a brother-in-law than he ever did as your husband."
The words made Raelynn's temples throb with a vicious headache.
It sounded like a sick joke.
If she gave up her position for Seraphina, Sebastian would suddenly treat her well? Suddenly become decent?
Raelynn kept walking without looking back, dropping a single, venomous sentence that wiped the smugness off Silas's face: "Don't project your gold-digger logic onto me. If you're addicted to living off a woman's money, keep me out of it."

Downstairs.
Chloe Hudson hurried over. "It's starting. He's really pushing through with this?"
Raelynn rubbed the throbbing spot between her brows and exhaled sharply. "He won't even speak to me. Fixing Seraphina's mess is his absolute top priority."
Even if it meant stepping on her, stepping on the Winslow family, and bleeding them dry.
"Doesn't this shop have a bunch of treasures that are strictly not for sale? Are they included in the fifteen items today?" Chloe asked.
Raelynn shook her head. "My grandfather mentioned a few to me when I was a kid, but it's been so long. I can't remember which ones they are."
"So what do we do?" Chloe gritted her teeth. "Then we bid. We jack up the prices and wreck the market. Let's see who's willing to bleed cash just to play along!"
It was the only viable strategy.
After all, the attendees were shrewd businesspeople.
Who would willingly throw away millions on antiques priced wildly above market value?
They were only here today to rub shoulders with Sebastian and Croix Holdings. They weren't exactly looking to be taken for fools!
Raelynn knew this was indeed a solid plan.
She gave a firm nod.
Since the shop was legally in Sebastian's hands now, even if she disrupted the auction with outrageous bids, there was nothing he could do to stop her. She was technically an "invited guest" today.
Even though she didn't have massive liquid funds,
she could at least cause some serious chaos.
The very first item brought out was an exquisitely crafted Renaissance-era piece.
The Venetian Glass Vase was of spectacular quality.
Several people were highly interested, quickly driving the starting bid of two million dollars up to two point seven million.
