Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 468

Seraphina's voice echoed crystal clear in the empty corridor, landing perfectly in Raelynn's ears.

Raelynn paused while drying her hands. Surprisingly, she didn't feel a surge of shock. It was, after all, the most logical move. If Sebastian promised to marry Seraphina, Cameron would be effectively neutralized. The only hurdle left for Sebastian was figuring out how to force the Croix elders to accept her.

Seraphina's laughter carried through the door. "Sebastian also told me to start looking into interior designers. He wants to completely renovate the house so it perfectly matches my taste for when we move in."

Raelynn tossed the paper towel into the trash and walked out, her expression a mask of total indifference.

Seraphina turned at the sound of footsteps. Seeing Raelynn didn't cause her to flinch. Instead, she ended her call, tilted her head, and smirked at Raelynn as she approached. "Sebastian is going to fight his family for me."

Forced to stop, Raelynn looked at her dead in the eye and enunciated clearly, "Congratulations."

Without missing a beat, she walked right past Seraphina.

She knew exactly what kind of reaction Seraphina was fishing for—a fight, tears, jealousy. Since that's what the woman wanted, Raelynn figured a hollow congratulations was the easiest way to shut her up. Arguing and throwing petty insults was beneath her; she refused to waste her energy.

Seraphina frowned, staring at Raelynn's retreating back. This wasn't the reaction she had anticipated. Raelynn was far too calm. It had to be a front—she was obviously just pretending not to care.

When Raelynn returned to the private dining room, she took the long way around the table specifically to avoid walking behind Sebastian.

A moment later, Seraphina glided back in.

The atmosphere had completely shifted in her favor. The moment she sat down, several professors from out of state struck up a conversation with her, warmly tossing academic talking points in her direction. The earlier freeze-out had vanished entirely.

Sebastian's mere presence—and his deliberate choice to sit beside her—had forced the room to reevaluate Seraphina's worth.

Seraphina was soaking it up, offering demure smiles and engaging effortlessly with the crowd. Every so often, she threw a triumphant sideways glance at Raelynn, who was quietly sipping her tea.
