Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 467

Sebastian and Seraphina completely dropped off the radar for days.

Sebastian was likely up to his neck dealing with Cameron's explosive return, leaving him no time to interrogate Raelynn about her supposed betrayal or the child she had hidden.

It gave her exactly the breathing room she needed to plan her next moves.

Two days later, the Kingsford Medical University research team hosted a project review and booked a private dining room at an upscale restaurant to meet with visiting teams from out of state.

That was when Raelynn finally saw the elusive Seraphina.

She walked in trailing behind Professor Yates. When Raelynn glanced over, she noticed Seraphina's complexion looked less than stellar. The swelling from Cameron's brutal slap was still faintly visible beneath a heavy layer of foundation.

Raelynn figured it had been a rough couple of days for the other woman.

The moment Seraphina spotted Raelynn, her eyes turned to ice. She had spent the last forty-eight hours desperately trying to keep Cameron from going completely psycho and ruining her pristine public image and career. As part of her panic, she had tried calling Raelynn multiple times—both from her own phone and her father's—only to find every single number blocked.

Seraphina was convinced Raelynn was just sitting back, waiting to watch her crash and burn.

As Seraphina made her rounds greeting the various professors, she deliberately and pointedly skipped Raelynn.

Raelynn couldn't have cared less. She smoothly took a seat next to Dr. Adrian Moreno.

Knowing she was surrounded by some of the most prestigious medical minds in the country, Seraphina tried her hardest to play the charismatic prodigy, raising her glass to toast the academics around her.

But the professors flanking Adrian were deeply engrossed in a low-voiced discussion about research protocols with Raelynn. They didn't even seem to register Seraphina's attempts at networking.

Seraphina stood there, frozen with her glass in the air.

She glanced around the room. Everyone was engaged in high-level conversation, and absolutely no one was pulling her into their circle. She was being entirely ignored.

Her face darkened, and she had no choice but to sit down, biting her lip in humiliation. She couldn't fathom why these elites were so eager to discuss academics with Raelynn while leaving her out in the cold. Didn't she have far more practical experience than Raelynn did? What did Raelynn even have to offer besides that fluke of a professorship?

And the reason for that power play was painfully obvious to everyone at the table.

There were exactly two empty seats left in the room: one beside Raelynn, and one beside Seraphina.

Acting as if Raelynn didn't even exist, Sebastian's expression remained perfectly remote as he strode over on his long legs and took the seat directly next to Seraphina.

In a split second, the dynamic of the entire room shifted. The researchers who had been giving Seraphina the cold shoulder suddenly turned their attention to her, offering warm greetings to the billionaire backer by her side. Instantly, Seraphina became the undisputed focal point of the dinner.

Her previously pale, embarrassed face flushed with radiant triumph, a brilliant smile blooming across her features.

It took Raelynn only seconds to decode Sebastian's move. He was here to establish dominance. He was publicly declaring that no one was allowed to bench Seraphina on his watch. With him sitting by her side, the academics had no choice but to fold her into their inner circle.

Raelynn offered a silent, cynical smirk, quietly pushed her chair back, and slipped out to the restroom.

As she stood at the sink washing her hands, she heard Seraphina's voice drifting from the hallway outside, practically dripping with smug satisfaction on a phone call. "Sebastian plans to marry me. Cameron won't dare pull anything now."
