Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 47

Even Leo coughed awkwardly at the phrase "Miss Home-wrecker."

He couldn't help but take a good, hard look at Raelynn.

Had she always had this... dry, biting sense of humor?

Seraphina offered a cold, mocking smile, refusing to stoop to the level of what she assumed were just bitter, jealous remarks.

Her gaze locked onto Raelynn's car. "Is that your car?"

"I stole it." Raelynn found the question so asinine it wasn't even worth a real response.

Sebastian shot her a cool, unreadable look.

Raelynn didn't flinch.

He wouldn't actually try to settle the score just because she threw a little jab at his precious mistress, would he?

Knowing that Raelynn was intentionally acting out of character and taking the low road, Leo decided to speak for Seraphina and point out the issue directly. "Raelynn, I really think you should reflect on your actions. Using matching license plates with Sebastian? Don't you think that's inappropriate? Isn't that going to make people mistakenly believe you're Mrs. Croix?"

Matching plates?

Raelynn frowned.

She followed where Leo was pointing.

Parked not far from her SUV was a brand-new Rolls-Royce. The first few letters and numbers of the license plate were identical to hers. The only difference was the final digit. Hers ended in 7, and the other ended in 3.

Hers was 7. Sebastian's was 3.

To anyone looking, it absolutely looked like matching couples' plates.

Parked so close together, it was incredibly eye-catching.

Especially since both were known as top-tier luxury vehicles.

But Leo's phrasing—"mistakenly believe she was Mrs. Croix"—was downright hilarious.

She had the legal marriage certificate; did she really need to use the word "mistakenly" to clarify her own relationship?

Was this what Seraphina was throwing a fit about?

"Plates this similar, what a coincidence. You really put a lot of effort into this," Seraphina said, looking down her nose at Raelynn. Her tone didn't shift, but her lips twitched slightly.

"You think I did this on purpose?" Raelynn understood exactly what she was insinuating.

Seraphina suddenly smiled again. "I didn't say that. Why are you so eager to defend yourself? It's not like I'm mad at you."

The man just happened to lift his eyelashes, meeting her gaze. Those deep eyes were impossible to read.

Raelynn couldn't even tell if Sebastian was annoyed by the "matching plates" coincidence.

But the fact that he was enabling Seraphina was an answer in itself.

Raelynn's patience had entirely run out. She stared him down, not avoiding his eyes for a second. "Please put your mistress on a leash."

As soon as the words left her mouth.

Seraphina's expression shattered.

Leo's smile froze instantly.

He immediately looked around to make sure no one had heard.

Sebastian watched Raelynn as she climbed into her car.

He knew exactly what she was doing. That comment was meant to disgust all of them.

Since when had Raelynn grown so many sharp thorns—

"Sebastian?" Seraphina clenched her fists, unable to contain her anger.
