Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 473

Riding high on adrenaline, Raelynn didn't even bother asking if Ian had to get back to work.

When they arrived at the kindergarten, the parking lot was already filling up with parents. Raelynn navigated the familiar hallways, leading Ian straight toward Lily's classroom.

"This must be your first time visiting Lily's school, right?" she asked, glancing back at him.

Ian took in the colorful hallway. "It is. That's why I'm making sure to savor the experience."

He paused, looking down at Raelynn's beaming face with a teasing glint in his eye. "If we're walking in together, what exactly is our relationship supposed to be?"

That question brought Raelynn to a dead halt. Her brain completely short-circuited.

They weren't married. They weren't dating. But legally and functionally, they were Lily's mother and father.

She had absolutely no idea how to answer that.

Ian let out a low chuckle, mercifully letting her off the hook. "Relax. Let's just go inside."

Raelynn let out a breath and quickly dropped the subject.

When they stepped into the classroom, most of the parents were already seated, and the few remaining empty chairs were scarce. The children had been ushered into a separate play area for the duration of the meeting.

Almost immediately, Raelynn felt a heavy, piercing gaze lock onto her.

She followed the sensation and collided straight with Sebastian's dark, bottomless eyes.

He was sitting in the back row, his long legs elegantly crossed. His tailored suit was completely free of wrinkles, making him look like a high-fashion editorial dropped into the middle of a kindergarten class. Several mothers in the front row were blatantly turning around to stare and whisper about him.

And sitting right next to him was Seraphina.

Sebastian was attending Shane Vance's parent-teacher meeting in the capacity of the boy's father figure.

Ian was, at the very least, legally recognized as Lily's father. But what exactly was Sebastian to Shane and Seraphina?

Sebastian was putting his absolute devotion to Seraphina on full public display. Even with Cameron out of prison and on a warpath, Sebastian still refused to distance himself from her.

Ian's gaze locked onto Sebastian's. Neither man allowed a single flicker of emotion to cross their face.

Seraphina was boldly flaunting her future with Sebastian—babies, houses, happily-ever-afters—right in front of his actual wife.

Sebastian's voice remained flat and entirely devoid of warmth. "I don't know much about that."

Undeterred, Seraphina pivoted gracefully, flashing a beaming smile at Ian. "Mr. Hudson, you have plenty of experience raising a child. How did you handle the arrangements for your daughter's room?"

Ian didn't miss a beat. "I hired a professional designer. I didn't waste my time racking my brain and begging people for advice on things I pay experts to do."

Seraphina's smile turned brittle.

What was Ian trying to say? Was he just being pragmatic, or was he directly calling her out for weaponizing the topic of children against Raelynn?

Raelynn knew Ian's tongue was coated in venom. He was ruthlessly dissecting Seraphina's pathetic attempt at a power play. Deciding to stay out of the crossfire, Raelynn simply turned her head and looked out the window.

Suddenly, Sebastian's low voice cut through the tension.

"Don't overthink it, Mr. Hudson," Sebastian murmured, his tone laced with a dangerous edge. "Perhaps Raelynn has more experience in this area than you do."
