That evening, Raelynn went downstairs to grab some dinner.
As she walked out of the inpatient building.
Her path was blocked after only a few steps.
Raelynn looked up to see Cameron Croix, whom she hadn't seen since that day.
Cameron looked her up and down with a mocking sneer. "Are you sick? Is my brother completely ignoring your existence now?"
Running into Raelynn at the hospital, he naturally had to throw a jab.
Raelynn didn't answer and tried to walk past him.
But he grabbed her arm. "Why are you hiding? Did I hit a nerve? Are you not feeling well?"
Raelynn glared coldly at his hand and violently shook it off. "Do you have nothing better to do?"
Cameron scoffed, pulling out his phone and unlocking it. "You really are more useless than I imagined. Weren't you curious where my brother disappeared to these past two days?"
He shoved the screen in Raelynn's face. "He went on a vacation with that tramp Seraphina and her little brother!"
Raelynn stared at Seraphina's social feed on the screen.
It was a complete grid of photos.
Whether it was domestic or international was unclear, but the center photo featured Seraphina's hand showing off a diamond ring.
The adjacent photo showed Sebastian holding Shane's hand from behind.
The caption read: "The ring is beautiful, and I'm so happy. We both need to learn how to be a mom and dad."
Raelynn's eyes remained completely devoid of emotion.
She was as calm as if she were looking at a stranger's post.
No wonder Shane had recovered so quickly.
They had planned to go on vacation together. Sebastian certainly knew how to coax both a child and the woman he loved.
No matter how busy he was, he always made time for them.
Cameron, however, gritted his teeth. "That bitch is so arrogant. If she knew this was my burner account, I probably wouldn't have even seen this post."
When he first saw it, he was furious.
Especially that ring.
She was unmoved. "I decline."
Cameron's face darkened. "Why are you playing the saint now? I refuse to believe you don't hate Seraphina."
Raelynn did hate her.
But she didn't hate her because of Sebastian.
She wouldn't drag herself through the mud over personal grudges.
Not wanting to waste another breath on Cameron, she turned and walked quickly toward the exit.
Cameron's expression instantly turned vicious. He chased after her and grabbed her by the shoulder, his gaze predatory as he looked her up and down. "Since my brother slept with my woman, it's only fair if I sleep with you. It's not like he cares anyway."
And it wouldn't disrupt the peace of the Croix family.
A wave of nausea washed over Raelynn.
Her anger flared.
She tried to push Cameron away. But he was much stronger.
As they struggled, a dark figure sprinted over and violently shoved Cameron away, shielding Raelynn. "Don't touch her!"
