Caught off guard, Cameron stumbled and nearly fell.
His face darkened as he glared at the intruder.
Raelynn also stared in surprise at the... girl wearing a hospital gown standing in front of her.
She felt like she had seen her somewhere before. She looked incredibly familiar.
Sierra Yves glared defensively at Cameron. "What do you think you're doing? Are you trying to assault someone?"
Cameron recognized Sierra. The sickly heiress of the Yves family.
Since they ran in the same circles, they had seen each other around.
He let out a scoff, tilting his head to look past Sierra at Raelynn. "You better think carefully about what I said."
Cameron didn't bother engaging with Sierra and turned on his heel to leave.
Sierra let out a sigh of relief.
She rubbed her shoulder, which ached from the collision, and turned to Raelynn. "Are you okay? Did he do anything to you?"
Raelynn shook her head. "I'm fine."
Sierra offered a shy smile. "I didn't scare you just now, did I? I came down for a walk and saw this grown man grabbing you. I got so mad I just..."
Observing the girl, Raelynn noted her pale complexion and smoothly replied, "Not at all. Thank you."
Being praised by someone as stunningly beautiful as Raelynn caused Sierra's face to flush red instantly. "You're welcome! I have to go back and get my IV drip, or the nurses will freak out looking for me. Bye!"
She waved and jogged off.
Raelynn could tell she was a bit shy and introverted.
Even though her tackle just now had been quite fierce.
Watching her leave.
Raelynn suddenly remembered.

Raelynn couldn't help but marvel at the coincidence.
She didn't dwell on it and went to buy dinner before returning to the room.
After Lily was discharged, Raelynn took her straight back to the Finch household.
Lily shared a conspiratorial wink with Raelynn as they walked in. She immediately threw herself into Professor Alistair Finch's arms, acting like a sweet angel and chattering about how much fun they had on their 'trip.'

Seraphina opened a shopping bag and handed out gifts with a warm, friendly smile. "We'll be working together from now on, so please take care of me. I went on vacation for the past few days, and these are gifts I brought back from Houston. I hope you like them."
The other girls quickly thanked her.
Raelynn didn't stop, intending to head to the locker room to change into her lab coat.
But Seraphina chased after her, a bright smile on her face as she offered Raelynn a small box. "Here's one for you, too."
Raelynn didn't take it. She marveled at how incredibly thick-skinned some people could be. After everything that had happened, Seraphina could still approach her without batting an eye.
Pretending everything was perfectly fine.
Raelynn sensed the smug satisfaction radiating from the other woman.
She glanced at the box. "I don't recycle trash."
Seraphina's smile faded.
"Raelynn, there's really no need to bite the hand that feeds you. I just wanted to share some of my joy. Sebastian and I bought a diamond ring worth millions of dollars at a jewelry store in Houston. This bracelet was a complementary gift that came with it. It has real diamonds, so it's not too cheap for you."

I think for as slow as the beginning was, their turning point is just so fast... really hope we actually get to read about R and S and their rekindle.... we did not read 950 pages for their story to be sidelined. Im for this sideline story, but it if it's to separate from the main characters and their story, please make it separate book....

I really like Zella, she is becoming a good friend to Raelynn. Ian needs to go. The relationship with Chloe is confusing. Some chapters they are cousins, sometimes they're sibling. A little confusing....
Julians role as big brother- I feel comes from a genuine place, but in a relationship thats is just as stained as Raelynns and Sebastians. It hard for me to connect to his big brother role as he too was such a problem before. And while they talked a little bit, the conversation did not give me the believe there was resolution between Raelynn and Julian. For a brute, he should make his feelings clear about the situation to Raelynn and then step back, until there is more foundation for him to stand on....
Knife in my heart. I hurt for Raelynn. She has made it this far, but how much does she have in her, everyone has a breaking point. Some back of me hopes the author is joking to lighten the mood after so many intense chapters, but thats not this kind of story or couple....
My heart cannot take this. This, cannot be how it ends with these too. They need resolution with each other. Raelynn needs to be more humanize with Sebastian. We know she is hurt, but this is the branch. She needs all these answers, if not for them to be together, then for Lily to have both her parents. Stop with the mind games Raelynn!...
Its like the story is just repeating itself...
Timeline is getting lost for me. So many treasured little memories Raelynn has but yet, he was gone for years ? Anyways... still rooting for them! These two need a heart to heart. Lily "forgetting" someone, not possible in this day and age and I hope thats not their storyline....
Sebastian, the man of few words.... needs to find all the words! Needs to fight for her! On note, seven years seems like a long time for this master plan (which I am sure goes back much farther). Rereading this novel, and it seems like everything has played out in a 5-8 month time span. And I feel like all Sebastian's doings/ plan have not been revealed. I hope we get to see the whole picture and have the resolutions we hope. But seven years of mistreatment, I just don't see Raelynn fully coming back. If these was 2-3 years, maybe, and I know it changes some characters around, but it would still work. Rooting for them!...
