Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 483

Sebastian lowered his eyes, staring at the lighter in his hand, noticing a missing diamond. "What else."

"Well, she left Kingsford on November 26th, six years ago. She was away on a long business trip for seven months, but we couldn't find any medical records for her at any hospital in Linden City."

Sebastian's gaze froze for a fraction of a second.

Winter, six years ago.

Raelynn had gone to Canada to look for him.

That one and only time.

And they had slept together.

He thought back.

His memory was crystal clear.

On November 24th, Raelynn had returned from abroad.

Almost immediately after landing—literally the next day—she had traveled to Linden City and stayed there for seven months.

So...

When she went to Canada, she was already pregnant.

And her reason for seeking him out—

Was it to give the child a legitimate claim?

But he always took precautions out of habit, so it couldn't be played off as an 'accidental' pregnancy.

He slowly rubbed his thumb over the small indent where the diamond used to be, remaining silent.

The man on the phone asked tentatively, "Boss, do you want us to keep digging? Why are you investigating her?"

The boss clearly didn't care about Raelynn's personal affairs, so why was he so obsessed with finding out who the father of her child was?

Sebastian didn't offer a reason.

He simply said, "Keep digging."

The new neuro-drug project at Kingsford was tackling an issue that had stumped the entire global medical community. With the project's launch, experts from overseas universities had also been invited to attend the meetings.

One of them was a medical professor from Harvard.

As the meeting concluded, Professor Robert specifically called Raelynn over. "You've completely amazed me. The questions you raised were incredibly sharp. If possible, before I head back, could we have dinner together?"

Looking at the kind, smiling foreign gentleman, Raelynn smiled back. "I'd be honored."

She was a straightforward person. Knowing that Westerners didn't use 'next time' or 'some other day' as empty polite filler, she set a date immediately. "Are you available today?"

Hearing those words.

Raelynn felt absolutely nothing.

Seraphina, however, offered a silent smirk.

"Hello, Professor Robert. I'm Seraphina Vance. Thank you so much for being willing to guide me with my report. I'm sure with your personal instruction, no one will be able to intentionally pick it apart."

She shot a glance at Raelynn, her meaning crystal clear.

She highly doubted Raelynn would dare target her this time, as doing so would mean dismissing Professor Robert's expertise.

Raelynn finally understood.

Sebastian's connections were vast; he could even bring in someone like Professor Robert to back Seraphina up.

He obviously thought Raelynn was 'bullying' Seraphina and had brought in reinforcements to put the pressure on her.

She didn't show any surprise.

Professor Robert didn't think much of the tension and suggested, "If you don't mind, why don't we invite Ms. Ortiz to join us for dinner?"

Raelynn instinctively wanted to decline.

But someone beat her to it. Sebastian's voice was steady and flat. "Ms. Ortiz probably has things to do. Let's not impose on her."
