Raelynn stared at the old woman in front of her. That face was almost flawless. Anyone looking at her would see an elder who fiercely doted on her juniors. It completely contradicted the image of the woman who had set her up with a scumbag to ruin her, and given her a fake divorce certificate without a care for whether she lived or died.
In this cannibalistic den that was the Croix family, looking closely, none of them were fit to be seen. They were all half-human, half-demon.
Raelynn let out a sudden, baseless laugh, full of naked, unconcealed mockery.
Seeing this expression on her face, Matilda felt a spike of discomfort and slowly frowned. "What is that expression, Raelynn? If you're dissatisfied with something, you can say it straight."
Raelynn looked at Matilda's expression. The old woman simply valued her current status and wanted to bind her to the Croix family to extract benefits, turning her into fertilizer for them to manipulate at will. Yet she had to put on an act as if it was all for Raelynn's own good, as if it were some grand blessing.
She laughed out loud.
Sebastian looked at her, the emotion in his dark eyes unreadable. She was clearly not in her usual state.
Raelynn walked two steps over to the beverage table, picked up a flute of champagne, tilted her head back, and downed it in one go.
Sebastian's gaze followed her.
Matilda frowned. She disliked Raelynn's overly flashy behavior; it wasn't ladylike or dignified enough. Just as she opened her mouth to say something—
After finishing the glass, Raelynn raised her arm high and fiercely smashed the empty glass onto the marble floor.
It let out an ear-piercing shatter. It was exceptionally abrupt against the backdrop of the melodious background music, perfectly maximizing the attention of the surrounding guests.
Raelynn's party-crashing act made the old lady's eyes go wide. "What are you doing, Raelynn? Stop making a scene," she demanded in disbelief.
Raelynn wiped the stray drops of alcohol from her lips, feeling the stares from all directions. Including from Sebastian himself.
Not far away, Jeanette, who had been mingling with guests, walked over with a cold face. "What kind of behavior is this, Raelynn? Drunk before you've even had anything?" she scolded.
Gasp!
Raelynn's words were akin to ripping open a gash for everyone to peer into, allowing them a full view of the hideous filth within.
The guests heard it loud and clear. They immediately looked at Sebastian and Cameron in utter shock. A future sister-in-law and the older cousin... they were messing around?
But Raelynn was still piling on the weight. "The female lead in this story... everyone should be familiar with her. The infamous Ms. Vance."
Cameron's face drastically changed, turning incredibly ugly. "Raelynn! Are you out of your mind?!"
It wasn't just Cameron. Matilda, Brenda Polk, and the others were hit so hard by Raelynn's words that they nearly fainted from rage.
Raelynn wasn't here today to win glory for the Croix family at all. She was here to crash the party and drag the Croix family's reputation through the mud, turning them into a laughingstock!
