Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 54

"Thirty million," Raelynn countered, refusing to engage in a petty shouting match.

She only cared about getting that gift for Lily.

Seraphina finally frowned.

Thirty million was way above what this Locket was actually worth.

She turned to Sebastian, pouting slightly. "I really wanted to get this for Shane, but at this price..."

Sebastian dragged his gaze away from Raelynn. "It's a gift for a child. The sentiment is what matters. The price is irrelevant."

Seraphina instantly understood what he meant.

A huge, triumphant smile spread across her face.

She shot a quick, gloating look at Raelynn and proudly raised her paddle. "Fifty million!"

She knew Sebastian would blindly foot the bill for anything her heart desired!

Raelynn, of course, understood the subtext just as clearly. Sebastian was going to back Seraphina no matter what.

If this was a battle of bank accounts, there was no way Raelynn could ever win.

She knew perfectly well that pushing this would only end in her own humiliation.

But she absolutely refused to let Seraphina look quite so smug, and she wasn't about to make this easy for Sebastian, either.

Even knowing she couldn't win, Raelynn raised the bid one more time: "Eighty million."

The room went dead silent.

This was no longer just a bidding war.

The crowd was full of seasoned, wealthy elites.

Everyone could see that Raelynn was deliberately jacking up the price.

Seraphina knew it too, and her expression turned furious.

"Raelynn, this is extremely petty. Sebastian is generous with me, but I won't just sit here and let you disrupt the market out of spite."

Raelynn stared her down. "If you don't have the cash to back it up, just concede."

Chloe almost burst out laughing.

Raelynn was usually incredibly sweet, but when she was pushed, her words could cut like glass.

Seraphina bit her lip.

She was genuinely annoyed now.

She knew full well the topaz was worth thirty million, tops.

If she kept pushing the price up...

"One hundred million."

A deep, icy voice shattered the tense atmosphere.

A fresh wave of shocked gasps swept through the room.

Everyone scrambled to look at the front row.

Raelynn's stomach plummeted, her eyes landing squarely on Sebastian, who hadn't spoken a single word until now.
