Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 57

Raelynn broke into a sprint.

An elderly man leaning heavily on a cane was slumped against a stone planter. He was deathly pale, his breathing erratic, and he was gagging, on the verge of throwing up.

Raelynn didn't waste a second. Older patients often had complex underlying conditions; a sudden attack like this could be fatal in minutes.

She rushed over. "Sir? Are you alright?"

The old man was drifting in and out of consciousness, but he managed to pry his eyes open and look at her.

Taking a quick look at his physical symptoms, Raelynn almost immediately knew what was happening.

He was likely suffering from a violent gastric attack, which, combined with what looked like severe hypertension, was triggering a terrifying cascade of complications.

If he didn't get immediate help, he was at extreme risk of a cerebral hemorrhage or a massive stroke.

She supported his weight, speaking calmly. "Don't panic, sir. Just try to take slow, steady breaths."

She quickly pulled out a small medical kit she had grabbed from the free clinic. After a rapid sterilization, she applied targeted pressure to stabilize his vitals, her hands moving with lightning speed and absolute precision.

Within minutes, the man took a sharp, gasping breath, and his erratic panting slowly began to level out.

His eyes, which had been rolling back, finally focused.

He looked at Raelynn, his voice weak but full of gratitude. "Thank you, young lady. I'm so sorry... it looks like I got something on your shirt."

Raelynn saw he was stabilizing. "It's nothing to worry about. Are your family members nearby? Can I help you back to your room?"

Louis Flynn shook his head weakly. "No need. I'm feeling much better. If the kids find out, they'll just make a huge fuss."

Especially that grandson of his, Leo. The boy was already completely paranoid about letting him out of his sight; if he knew about this, he'd be impossible to deal with.

Raelynn gently insisted, "You clearly have some underlying health issues. You really need to see the doctor for a full workup to figure out what triggered this, so you can manage it better."

The more Louis looked at Raelynn, the more he liked her. He nodded with a warm smile. "Alright, I'll do that. What's your name, sweetheart?"

Raelynn opened her mouth to answer.

"Ms. Ortiz! We've got a patient over here with some very strange vitals. Can you take a look?" One of the volunteers from the free clinic came sprinting around the corner, waving frantically at her.

Raelynn nodded at the volunteer, then turned back to the old man. "You're very welcome. It's just what I do. I'll flag down one of the resort staff to escort you back to your room."

Having sorted everything out, Raelynn took off at a run.

Louis watched her go, tapping his cane on the ground with a sigh of regret.
