A woman's voice cut through the chatter. "Seb, over here."
Raelynn froze.
She looked up.
Seraphina and Sebastian were walking right toward them, taking the seats directly across from her and Lily.
They clearly noticed them as well.
Sebastian's dark eyes were unreadable as he cast a brief glance at Lily.
He then pulled out his chair and sat down.
Raelynn fought the sudden urge to flip the table and walk out. But she couldn't make a scene on someone else's turf, and she didn't want to confuse Lily with a sudden outburst.
When Seraphina saw Raelynn, a strange, calculated glint flashed in her eyes.
She absentmindedly reached up, brushing her fingers against the pendant resting against her collarbone.
Plenty of people in the room recognized Sebastian, and several stopped by their table to network and exchange pleasantries.
Raelynn ignored all of it.
She focused entirely on serving food onto Lily's plate.
Lily wasn't a fussy child at all. Aside from a few specific food allergies, she ate whatever was put in front of her and was incredibly easy to care for.
Eventually, the socializing across the table died down.
Seraphina's voice drifted over, laced with a sultry sweetness. "Seb, there's a pool party on the rooftop later tonight. It's a swimwear theme. My brother... I mean, Mr. Yves's hotel is famous for its rooftop pool. Want to head up there together later?"
Sebastian was busy scrolling through a constant stream of work emails.
He responded without looking up, indulging her request. "Whatever you want to do."
A faint blush crept onto Seraphina's cheeks. She stood up to grab some champagne from the nearby beverage station. Her eyes darkened as she stared at the rows of drinks lined up on the table.
She took her time before returning to her seat.
She placed one of the flutes right next to his hand, making sure her voice was perfectly audible—whether by accident or design. "Since I knew we were staying here, I made sure to pack a few stunning bikinis. And the rooftop has a few very secluded, private pools."
Raelynn heard every single word loud and clear.
