Watching the liquid slide smoothly down Sebastian's throat, Seraphina felt a sudden rush of heat bloom in her chest. A triumphant smile spread across her face, though she masked it with a playful pout as she raised her glass. "In a rush? You drank that so fast."
Sebastian gave his phone a slight shake. "Company briefing."
She beamed, her face glowing with anticipation. "Go take your call, then. We'll meet on the rooftop later, alright?"
As she spoke, Seraphina pulled out a key card she had prepared in advance.
It was the access card to one of the private pools on the rooftop.
Sebastian glanced at it, then took it from her hand.
"Yeah."
Raelynn didn't look up once.
She treated her ex-husband and the homewrecker like they were invisible.
She quietly focused on picking the bones out of a piece of fish for Lily.
She turned a completely blind eye to their blatant flirting.
Every now and then, Lily would peek curiously at the couple across the table.
Her big, innocent eyes couldn't comprehend the subtext of their conversation, nor did she understand what went down in private pools between grown men and women. But she definitely understood the word bikini.
Even though she wasn't even six years old yet, she had traveled to quite a few countries.
She had been to the beach plenty of times.
She turned to Raelynn. "Mama, did you pack a bikini? Since Daddy is coming later, why don't you put on a pretty bikini and have Daddy teach you how to swim? Maybe you won't be scared of the water anymore!"
The toddler's soft, sweet voice was entirely innocent.
But to the adults sitting at the table, those words carried a heavily loaded implication.
Everyone knew what usually happened when a man and a woman were alone in a pool together. It was the perfect recipe for a fiery rendezvous.
Sebastian cast a cold, sharp glance in her direction.
Gripping the back of his chair, he leaned slightly forward, his dark, bottomless eyes locking onto Raelynn. It was impossible to read the emotions swirling in his gaze.
Seraphina scowled.
She was practically a recognized heiress of the Yves family now. How dare Raelynn flaunt her impending intimate plans with Ian right in front of her? Who did she think she was?
Raelynn ignored the tension, gently ruffling Lily's soft hair. "Mama will think about it."
