By allowing Seraphina's belongings to be moved in, Sebastian was boldly flaunting Raelynn's humiliating failure as Mrs. Croix to the entire world.
But even if she was divorcing him.
Even if Sebastian was practically foaming at the mouth to give his cousin's ex-fiancée a legitimate title, Raelynn absolutely refused to be humiliated like this before the ink on the divorce papers was even dry!
She marched right into the room, calmly addressing the movers, and pointed at the incoming furniture piece by piece. "These items are extremely expensive. You guys can keep all of it. Sell it secondhand and you'll make a massive profit. Please haul it back out."
The movers had just been hired for a job.
Hearing an offer like that, they were more than happy to listen to the actual adult in the room. They immediately grinned and agreed.
Unable to stop them, Spencer pointed a shaking finger at Raelynn and screamed. "Who the hell do you think you are?! My mom bought these as a gift for her! Do you really think you have a say in this? My brother is going to throw you out on the street!"
Raelynn finally understood.
It wasn't just Sebastian—her mother-in-law, Jeanette, was orchestrating this behind the scenes.
She looked down at Spencer, enunciating every single word. "Fine. Tomorrow I'm going straight to your school. I'll tell all your little friends how you actively encouraged your brother to sleep around with his own cousin's fiancée. I'll make sure everyone knows the Croix family prides itself on cheating and moral bankruptcy. Since you love Seraphina so much, I'll do the PR for you. I'll make you the most famous kid in school. How does that sound?"
Raelynn's words were brutally graphic.
She had never spoken to him this harshly before; she had always just humored his tantrums. Spencer's eyes went wide with sheer terror.
His face flushed beet red. "You really are a toxic, evil witch! Don't you dare!"
Raelynn shrugged.
See?
Who said kids didn't know better? Who believed in innocent childhood ignorance?
They only start crying when the knife is pointing at them.
'Be the bigger person'?
Screw that.
The commotion had clearly alerted the rest of the house.
Jeanette marched in, her face like thunder. "What is going on here?"
