Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 72

Raelynn looked up. The moment she saw it was Julian, her expression instantly iced over, a flash of disgust appearing in her eyes.

"Let go."

She stepped back rapidly.

As if avoiding the plague.

Julian ran his tongue over his teeth and let out a sharp, mocking laugh. "Raelynn, I caught you so you wouldn't fall, and this is how you thank me?"

He honestly felt Raelynn was incredibly ungrateful.

First she insulted him, and now she was burning bridges the second she didn't need him.

"You bumped into me, what exactly am I thanking you for? Next time you stab me and then drive me to the hospital, do I need to get down on my knees and beg for forgiveness? Does one cancel out the other?" Raelynn adjusted the documents in her arms, her tone flat and completely merciless.

He was one of the knights in shining armor charging into battle for Seraphina; why should she give him the time of day?

Julian was momentarily speechless.

His brows furrowed. "Sharp tongue. What are you doing here?"

You needed an appointment to get into Kingsford University, and this was an important research building. Raelynn showing up here today...

Julian shoved one hand into his pocket and looked her up and down. "Did you follow us again?"

Raelynn turned and met Julian's mocking gaze.

She had just guessed a possibility.

A Bentley pulled up next to them.

Sebastian got out of the car, his gaze sweeping over them indifferently.

It paused on Raelynn's face, then moved away without a ripple of emotion.

Following that, Seraphina also stepped out of the car.

Upon seeing Raelynn, the corners of Seraphina's mouth twitched up slightly.

Soon.

The head representative from Kingsford University came out and respectfully walked up to Sebastian, extending a hand. "Mr. Croix, you personally brought Ms. Vance here. You really honor us with your presence. Thank you so much for your generous sponsorship of our lab."

Raelynn's eyes darted over abruptly.

Julian noticed her expression, leaned in slightly, and let out a wicked chuckle. "You didn't know? Sebastian sponsored the Kingsford University School of Pharmacy with fifty million to purchase brand-new, high-precision lab equipment, all so Ms. Vance could join the university's R&D team. They'll be coordinating the joint research with NexusMind Technologies."

A vein throbbed at Raelynn's temple.

She hadn't expected this setup.

Since Seraphina couldn't get into NexusMind, Sebastian just threw a massive amount of money to get her through the back door and straight onto the partner team.

It still wouldn't stop Seraphina from padding her resume.

She had thought NexusMind's rejection would keep Seraphina quiet for a while.

But she had forgotten just how much blood and treasure Sebastian was willing to spend on Seraphina...

"Jealous?" Julian raised an eyebrow, his tone drawling. "Ms. Ortiz, living a loveless marriage can't be fun. If you back out now, I might be able to set you up with a real catch."

"Oh~ We get it~"

Everyone instantly shared a knowing look.

Watching all this unfold.

Raelynn could only stand quietly among the NexusMind researchers.

Like she was just one of the many people wishing them well.

And Sebastian was silently accepting everyone's blessings.

She lowered her eyes, a flash of mockery passing through them.

Just how far had Sebastian's disregard and contempt for her gone? Even with her standing right there, he didn't bother to hide his feelings and indulgence for Seraphina.

His affair was already blatant.

It was as if she, his actual wife, was just thin air.

He didn't care if she threw a fit. He was probably hoping she'd make a huge scene, or maybe he wanted her to get divorced early and clear out the spot.

"Let's sync up today, clarify the division of labor and the main focuses. In a bit, Sebastian wants to treat everyone to a meal. We hope you'll all do us the honor of joining."

Seraphina's posture was elegant as she spoke, and she even looked up at Sebastian, her eyes full of sweetness.

The crowd erupted into cheers.

"Ms. Vance's boyfriend is worried we won't take good care of you, so he's bribing us in advance, huh? Ms. Vance, you're so lucky."
