"Model boyfriend alert, I won't even say who's jealous-"
"If you guys are tying the knot soon, you have to invite us."
Julian walked over, cast a sidelong glance at Raelynn, and tilted his head with a soft chuckle. "Even if Mr. Croix forgets to send out invitations, I'll make sure they get delivered. Don't worry, everyone."
Seraphina immediately offered a helpless smile. "Mr. Yves, please stop joking around. We have important business to focus on today."
Her prioritizing the big picture earned her even more admiring glances.
"Mr. Moreno isn't here?"
Seraphina suddenly asked.
Raelynn was surrounded by NexusMind colleagues coordinating the project. Everyone's eyes turned to Raelynn. They all knew she was the one in charge after Mr. Moreno.
Raelynn looked over. "Any pointers?"
Seraphina looked perfectly composed. "If Mr. Moreno isn't here, who calls the shots?"
For a joint project this important, someone with Raelynn's mediocre level of expertise trying to get in on the action—wouldn't that just give her an unearned author credit on the margins?
"Is Ms. Vance trying to speak on behalf of Kingsford University?" Raelynn countered.
Seraphina let out a short laugh. "I was just asking. There's no need to put words in my mouth."
"You're very sensitive," Raelynn replied flatly.
Seraphina's expression froze for a moment.
Choked on her own words, a flash of displeasure crossed her eyes.
How could Raelynn be so unrefined, speaking with so much venom!
The atmosphere instantly grew awkward.
Everyone turned to look at Raelynn.
And they couldn't help but be stunned for a second.
For no other reason than...
Raelynn was absolutely gorgeous.
She had a slender figure, a flawless complexion, and without a drop of makeup, she was effortlessly breathtaking.
Raelynn was too low-key, blending into the crowd, which was why they hadn't noticed her right away.
"The restaurant is booked. Let's all head over," Sebastian spoke up, his steady voice pulling everyone back to reality.
Only then did Raelynn look at him.
He was terrified she was going to keep embarrassing Seraphina.
Julian clapped his hands. "The cars are ready too. We can talk while we eat."
Raelynn led the NexusMind team into their own company car.
Seraphina frowned, then looked at Professor Roland. "How is the NexusMind team structured? Are these all core members?"
Professor Roland nodded. "Yes, everyone is here."
Displeasure showed on Seraphina's face.
How did Raelynn sneak her way onto a team of this caliber?
What trick did she pull?
Or rather...
What did she trade for the opportunity?
Sebastian had booked The Imperial Garden.
It was Kingsford's top upscale restaurant, running about $500 a plate, requiring reservations a month in advance. Even with money, you couldn't always get a table.
The way everyone looked at Seraphina grew even more envious and grateful.
"We can only dream of a twenty-four-karat perfect boyfriend who's this handsome and rich."
She ended up sitting right across from Sebastian and Seraphina.
Julian witnessed all of this.
He observed Raelynn's expression.
She was actually keeping her composure.
He couldn't quite wrap his head around it.
Why was Raelynn so desperately clinging to this marriage, refusing to divorce?
Since Sebastian was paying the bill, the conversation naturally revolved around his relationship with Seraphina.
As they chatted.
Someone asked out of the blue, "Ms. Ortiz, none of us have boyfriends. What about you? Do you have one? Or are you already married?"
The question came out of nowhere.
Raelynn paused mid-sip.
She raised her eyes.
She noticed that Sebastian, who had deliberately avoided looking at her the entire dinner, had fixed his gaze on her.
His eyes were deep, as dark as ink.
Was he... warning her not to say anything stupid?
Seraphina also pursed her lips.
She felt whoever asked this question had absolutely no tact. Raelynn was a fringe character; what was there to be curious about?
Raelynn set her glass down.
She met the gaze from across the table.
"Hubby-"

No, no, no! Sebastian needs to nip the Zella situation and win Raelynn back! Also, Leo, he is a wildcard for Sebastian's master plan... Sebastian- we know you know, what we know, win your family back!...
I thought now Sebastian and Raelynn will be together now that seraphina is not but you are not letting them to be. Two new female around Sebastian 😭...
I think Ian is sly. He is not what he seems. Sebastian loves Raelyn and they have a daughter together. Besides he has no family to even take care of him. I feel Raelyn should realise that Sebastian is only her true love and go back to him....
