The realtor's face flushed red with excitement. The commission on this penthouse would set him up for three years!
Raelynn knew Ian was the one writing the check.
She stayed out of the business talk.
Instead, she wandered through the massive condo, exploring the different wings on her own.
Ian handled the specifics with the realtor. However, a few clauses in the contract needed adjusting, prompting the realtor to step outside to make some calls.
Just then, Ian's phone rang with a work emergency.
He needed to run down to his car to grab his laptop.
He turned to Raelynn. "Keep looking around. If there's anything you don't like, let me know, and we can discuss remodeling it together."
Raelynn nodded.
She continued her walkthrough until she absentmindedly pushed open the door to one of the master bedrooms. Looking at the space, an indescribable weight settled over her.
This wouldn't be where she put down roots.
Her marriage to Ian was transactional. It was supposed to be a mutual alliance—she needed him to secure Lily's custody, and he originally needed her to break his arranged marriage with the Yves family.
Even though, by some twist of fate, she turned out to be the Yves heiress...
Now that Ian was claiming to have real feelings for her, the scales were completely thrown off.
It wasn't a partnership anymore; the nature of their relationship had fundamentally changed.
A headache pulsed at her temples. Her mind had been a chaotic mess lately, and the Hudson family's bidding war incident had set off alarm bells she couldn't ignore. Yet, here she was, stuck in this suffocating limbo.
She couldn't retreat, and she was terrified to move forward.

The front door opened.
Assuming Ian had returned, Raelynn turned around. "Did you want to make this room the master—"
She froze.
Locking eyes with the man in the doorway, a chill shot down her spine. "What are you doing here?"
Sebastian was no longer using his wheelchair; his recovery had progressed significantly.

No, no, no! Sebastian needs to nip the Zella situation and win Raelynn back! Also, Leo, he is a wildcard for Sebastian's master plan... Sebastian- we know you know, what we know, win your family back!...
I thought now Sebastian and Raelynn will be together now that seraphina is not but you are not letting them to be. Two new female around Sebastian 😭...
I think Ian is sly. He is not what he seems. Sebastian loves Raelyn and they have a daughter together. Besides he has no family to even take care of him. I feel Raelyn should realise that Sebastian is only her true love and go back to him....
