In the past, Raelynn would never have treated Sebastian with such cold indifference.
Sebastian slowly looked away.
Leo shook his head. "Seb, you didn't marry a woman, you married a drama queen."
Sebastian lowered his gaze and flicked his lighter. He didn't answer. He just got straight into the car.

It was Arthur's 90th birthday, and Raelynn didn't want to make a huge spectacle of it. Their family was small, so her main goal was simply to create a warm, lively atmosphere to make her grandfather happy.
The guest list was barely enough to fill one large table. To make up for the small crowd, she planned to hire some performers to liven things up. The banquet hall she had booked was fairly spacious.
However, the night before, she received a call from the hotel manager.
"Ms. Ortiz, I am so incredibly sorry. We've had a sudden surge in bookings lately. I see you've only reserved a large table for twenty, but you've booked our premium banquet hall. We have another party with a much larger guest list, and we are completely out of other halls. Would you be willing to downsize to a smaller room? As an apology, the hotel will offer you a twelve percent discount on your bill."
Raelynn really didn't mind. A room was just a room.
She didn't make things difficult for him. "That's fine. Go ahead and make the switch."
The manager thanked her profusely.
The next morning, Raelynn woke up bright and early. She went to the private care facility to pick up her grandfather. In his youth, Arthur had been an elegant, highly educated man, and even in his old age, he maintained his dignity. Today, he was in surprisingly good spirits, having dressed himself in a sharp, tailored gray suit.
"Why didn't Sebastian come with you?" Arthur asked, gently warming Raelynn's cold hands in his own.
Raelynn checked the time. "He's swamped with work. He's going to meet us there a little later."
"Good, good. It's been too long since the whole family had a meal together."
Sitting in his wheelchair, Arthur smiled, looking vibrant and full of life. Seeing him like this, Raelynn felt that as long as she could keep her grandfather happy and help him live a few more years, she would do absolutely anything.
The guests today included Preston Moreno, Chloe Hudson, and a few of her grandfather's former students—just enough to fill one large table.
