Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 82

Raelynn looked at him distractedly. "What's wrong?"

Preston frowned. "The party in the hall next door... I think it's a birthday bash for Seraphina Vance's brother."

Raelynn's tense expression hadn't even had time to settle before sheer disbelief flooded her eyes. "Shane?"

She quickly stepped out into the corridor.

The adjacent hall wasn't far. It was, in fact, the exact premium banquet hall she had originally booked—the one the hotel had begged her to give up.

Standing right at the entrance was a welcome sign plastered with a photo of Shane Vance. They were throwing him a birthday party.

By the door, Silas Vance and Blanche were greeting guests.

When Silas saw Raelynn, he didn't look surprised in the slightest. He walked over with a wide, familiar smile, acting as if they hadn't been estranged for over a decade. "Lynnie! What a coincidence. I'm here celebrating your brother's birthday. Why don't we merge the two parties into one big hall?"

Raelynn's eyes were freezing. "Are we close enough for that?"

They hadn't spoken in over ten years, yet Silas was still as painfully fake as ever.

Silas frowned, then let out a heavy sigh. "Lynnie, I'm just looking out for you. Sebastian is accompanying Sera to an interview right now, but they'll be arriving here together shortly. Today is Shane's birthday too. Surely your grandfather, at his advanced age, wouldn't want to steal the spotlight from a child. Why don't you all come over, have some food, blow out some candles, and share in our joy?"

Share in their joy?

They were hosting their own private celebration, yet Silas was framing it as if they needed his charity.

Raelynn's chest rose and fell as her glare turned sharp as daggers.

"You seem incredibly proud of your stepdaughter for being a homewrecker, Mr. Vance."

It was glaringly obvious. Silas had known all along that she had married Sebastian Croix, and he was fully aware that Seraphina was hooking up with him. Yet, he hadn't reached out to his own biological daughter once. Instead, he had been secretly thrilled that his stepdaughter was stealing Raelynn's husband!

Silas's expression soured. He looked at her with profound disappointment. "Lynnie, how can you be so vicious? She is your sister."
