Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 94

When Raelynn arrived at city hall, she scanned the two large halls. The marriage registration area was practically empty, but the divorce section was packed to the brim.

She suddenly felt a strange rush.

An exhilarating sense of finality.

Inside the hall.

Several couples were red in the face, arguing vehemently.

Others sat side-by-side in dead silence, yet the hatred radiating between them was unmistakable.

A few looked entirely dead inside, their faces plastered with a look of impending liberation.

What about her and Sebastian?

How would they look?

It took Raelynn barely a second to find the answer.

They would be so unnervingly calm they wouldn't even look like husband and wife, but rather two strangers settling a business transaction.

Seven years of intimacy, yet stubbornly void of a single drop of love.

The thought actually made Raelynn let out an inappropriate chuckle.

It was mostly self-deprecation.

The couples who had been busy tearing into each other all turned to stare at her like she was a lunatic.

Raelynn reined it in slightly. "Sorry, my husband is cheating on me with a woman who has her own family. I'm just laughing out of pure anger."

The women, who had just been bickering endlessly, instantly shot her looks of profound empathy and fierce indignation.

"You're so young and gorgeous! Is your husband completely blind?" asked a woman who had come to pick up her divorce certificate in astonishment.

Raelynn nodded. "I think so too."

"Men are all exactly the same. They always think the garbage outside smells like fine dining!"

Raelynn chimed in again. "You couldn't stop them from eating it even if you tried."

"These heartless bastards will rot from the inside out!" The women cursed, growing more energized by the second.

The men, who had previously stayed quiet, couldn't stomach the thinly veiled insults anymore. They shot up, faces twisted in anger, and fired back.

The hall erupted once more, insults and curses flying freely.

Raelynn quietly observed the chaotic scene.

Years of marriage, ending in such a brutal, tragic showdown.

For a moment, she didn't know whether to feel sorrowful or relieved that they were all escaping their respective hells.

She checked the time.

It was almost ten o'clock.

Still no reply from Sebastian.

Raelynn tried calling him again.

Still no answer.

She had gone through a lot of trouble to secure this appointment slot. If Sebastian didn't show up, her effort would be wasted.

Left with no choice, she walked up to the counter. "Excuse me, what time do you close today? Can we get the certificate finalized today?"

The clerk looked up at her. "No. If you submit the application today, there is a mandatory thirty-day waiting period. You can only collect the certificate after a month."

A lump instantly formed in Raelynn's throat.
