Burn in the Alpha Princess's Wrath (Leslie and Kirby) novel Chapter 460

Malach’s POV

After escorting Marcus back to Bloodrock Estate, I rushed straight to the Crimson Moon Pack headquarters. Given the events of the day, Kirby was bound to be in a foul mood.

I had just reached the office when my phone vibrated. A notification for a massive transfer popped up on the screen: fifty million!

I stood frozen for a long time, my heart hammering against my ribs like a drum. Once I confirmed the money had come from Leslie, I felt an even deeper sense of dread.

Before I could even think of contacting her, Kirby strode toward me. The air around him was like shards of ice. "Ready the conference room. Emergency meeting."

I nodded quickly and hurried to make the arrangements, though my mind was still spinning over that money.

Don't go looking for trouble, my wolf snarled in my head. He’s in a bad mood and he’s going to lose it.

But I had no choice; I had to tell him.

When Kirby returned, I caught up to him, keeping my voice cautious. "Kirby..."

He was adjusting his collar as he walked, his pace never faltering. His voice was bone-chilling. "Do you have the list of the Old Alpha’s loyalists?"

"I have it," I replied quickly. "No department heads are involved, and the stances of the various departments are clear. It's just a few of the older Elders who are restless; they've been trying to stir up trouble with some of the newer Elders, but they aren't a threat to you."

I handed him the list, stealing a glance at his sharp, chiseled features.

He tilted his head, his eyes dark and heavy. "Is Carris sorted out?"

"Yes, he’s being very cooperative." I paused. "However, he requested that you help him keep the woman’s identity a secret."

To protect his reputation in the entertainment industry, Carris had even abandoned his sense of adventure. He was shielding that woman fiercely, terrified that any exposure would ruin the relationship.

Kirby let out a cold sneer, his lips curving into a thin, disdainful arc. "Fine. But if he causes any trouble, I’ll personally see to it that she’s married back off to Leiss."

I swallowed hard. That was a brutal threat.

Kirby rubbed the bridge of his nose as if trying to suppress a mounting irritation.

I leaned in, bracing myself. "Kirby, just a moment ago... Leslie transferred fifty million over."

The moment the words left my mouth, the air in the office seemed to freeze. The silence was deafening.

You talk too much, my wolf hissed.

What else was I supposed to do? I couldn't exactly pocket fifty million in hush money.

Kirby’s eyes were as deep and cold as a dark abyss. "Start the meeting."
