Burn in the Alpha Princess's Wrath (Leslie and Kirby) novel Chapter 459

Kirby’s POV

I put on a cold smile and paced toward them, the silver on my watch catching the firelight with an icy, piercing glint.

I glanced at Leslie, the smile on my lips deepening. "You seem to be in high spirits."

Leslie shifted back into her human form right in front of me, adjusting her clothes which had become slightly disarranged from the transformation.

She arched an eyebrow and gave a playful smirk. "With your whole family keeping me in their thoughts, how could I not be?"

Her tone was light, but it carried the sharp edge of a Rogue Pack princess.

Marcus was on the ground gasping for air, his face so red it looked ready to burst. He barked at me, "Kirby, have you gone blind?"

His voice carried the fury of an old Alpha, but it lacked its former majesty.

I looked down at him, hands in my pockets and posture relaxed. The smile on my lips was as thin and cold as a blade. "Old Alpha, if your health is this poor, why are you out causing trouble? It seems the butler hasn't been looking after you well enough. I'll have to find a better replacement."

Lawrence let out a low chuckle. Give him a taste of his own medicine.

"You wouldn't dare—" Marcus shook with rage, the veins on his forehead bulging as his face turned a deep crimson.

I let out a cold snort. The sheer weight of my authority as the Crimson Moon Alpha forced the sound back down his throat.

What wouldn't I dare? There was no one left who could threaten me.

I reached down and hauled him up. My movements weren't gentle; I handled him like a piece of discarded junk.

Malach took the hint and immediately took over, half-dragging the old man away. As he passed the two guards, he paused. "Are you staying for dinner?"

The two shared a panicked look and fled, their footsteps echoing down the corridor.

Only Leslie and I remained in the suite, along with Liam, who stood behind her like a cold, stone guardian. I frowned; that Beta’s loyalty irritated me.

I turned back to Leslie, a flash of cold light in my eyes as I smiled. "The Old Alpha is quite ill. Don't take him to heart."

She tilted her head with a teasing look. "He told me he wanted to set me up with Carris to knock you off your pedestal."

Her eyes sparkled with mischief, as if she were testing me.

However, I had no desire to discuss that topic with her. Having a moment alone with her was rare enough; talking about ugly power struggles would only ruin the mood.

I curled my lips into a bold smile. "Then he’s bound to be disappointed. Carris found a woman recently. They’re in the middle of a passionate romance."

She blinked, seemingly caught off guard. She asked with genuine interest, "Who is it?"

I didn't hold back. "Leiss' ex-wife. That insufferable woman."

Leslie’s POV

Asphodel couldn't help but chime in: Talk about a tangled web.

He pulled an exquisite box from his pocket. When he opened it, a pink diamond necklace was revealed, so radiant it was impossible to look away.

Without giving me a chance to argue, he put it on me. The cool diamonds rested against my neck, making my skin look even fairer.

I was dazed for a moment. The design was incredibly familiar—a private collection piece from a high-end, niche luxury brand in the East Continent. It was one of a kind in the entire world.

I checked the brand logo on the box; I was right.

Asphodel let out a low hum. The dog has good taste.

My heart fluttered for a second, but my pride as a Rogue Pack princess wouldn't allow me to be indebted to him.

I shot him a look, but he just smiled with satisfaction, his eyes warm. "Goodbye."

He turned and walked away, so abruptly that he didn't give me an opening to refuse.

I leaned back against the car seat, utterly speechless. I’d seen plenty of eight-figure luxury items, and I shouldn't have been moved, but this unique, delicate design really hit the mark.

I traced the necklace with my fingers, let out a huff, and pulled out my phone to transfer the money to Malach.

A Rogue Pack princess doesn't accept charity. If Kirby thought he could buy me with gifts, he was dead wrong.
